hi guys! you know i've been struggling with money especially lately, thankfully i've been approached by the guys at @peepshopping about a partnership so i'd love if you read this post.
Peep is a new fashion app that lets you shop outfits from your screenshots! just upload a photo and Peep will tell you what somebody is wearing and a dozen different places you can find their outfit, with a focus on dupe and thrifted results. itâs like a better version of Google Lens with filters, a discovery feed and collections/boards so you can save your inspo! the app is US only on the App Store for now, but I've tried it through a friend and I think you guys would really like it. every download supports me, so if you ever wanted to help me but didn't have the money to do so, this is another way to do that!
hereâs a link to the app, and use the code âtumblrâ when signing up to skip the waitlist: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6468892169
and here are some photos showing how the app looks and works:

thanks for reading and thanks again to @peepshopping! đ

Your post about how many people are unknowingly falling for & spreading propaganda... yeah. I typed up a whole spiel of a comment on one of your posts the other day that I ended up deciding not to not actually post because it felt like detailing, but seriously. The amount of well meaning, genuinely anti-zionist people ignorantly sharing zionists' posts because they just don't pick up on the leading undertones is honestly more terrifying than than the amount of actual zionists in some ways.
I'm someone who was born into a doomsday cult, and seeing all these people falling for the exact same blatant (or so i thought lol) recruitment/manipulation tactics I've seen used by them my entire life has absolutely fucking terrifying. These are people who are actively trying to combat zionism, but I guess the general public is so uneducated about propaganda/cult tactics that what immediately reads as blatantly manipulative, misleading bullshit to me just doesn't even register as strange to most people. Not to be repetitive, but seriously: fucking terrifying.
There's so much focus on the way people/groups who want to manipulate you will use language of fear, but in this case especially, people need to realize they will almost always appeal to your compassion before they appeal to your fear.
It's all peace and love and happiness because that's what gets people in the door. You preach (or post) the mushy, happy, fun stuff that makes people feel good to draw them in, and you slowly start peppering in the ideas you actually want to lead them to believe later on once you've got them wanting to believe you.
This also has this added effect of helping the group or person's image. Even the people who you don't manage to draw in will have the impression of you as someone who runs their mouth 24/7 about how you're full of love and want the best for everyone, which is especially useful for when you inevitably want to frame yourself as the victim to demonize the people who will inevitably oppose you. If your first and only exposure to a person is seeing them calling for world peace and universal love, you are much more likely to be inclined to believe they (and by extension their cause) are the sympathetic, loving, peaceful good guys being unjustly targeted.
Sorry for rambling, but like... really. It won't always be something nefarious, of course--the vast majority of the the time, it won't be--but I think we would all be in a much better situation if people took it as a general rule of thumb that you should always be a little suspicious of overly vague talk about peace and love.
You're EXACTLY right. I really appreciate this message, because you put to words a lot of my inherent analysis of arguments and ideas. I like grew up with this rhetoric so it's easy to spot for me, but the way that people speak about "peace" as the overall goal when they're zionist is so blatant to me because there is no material change in the scenario they propose but rather a calmness where Palestinians are ignored.
And picking up on subtext of a lot of messages is something you have to have a muscle for kinda because of how subtle it is. The frightening part is, you're right, that the indoctrination part of zionism is the most harmful part because you appeal to their pathos â their fear, their sense of safety, etc â and you go on down the rabbit hole and slowly start being radicalized and pro-zionism or you might not even be pro-zionism 100% but enjoy... soft zionism as a mutual of mine put it once (if you read this and want to be tagged, lmk). Which soft zionism is the MAIN opinion in many liberal circles btw, its not an uncommon opinion.
I even remember once sharing a post by a zionist because i saw them talk about esims but when i went on their blog a few days later because something rubbed me the wrong way, I noticed their pinned and I was like "oh dam I gotta delete that other post" like that's how often this happens.
Idk, I try to combat this by putting sources or approaching from a standpoint of logical arguments rather than identity-based politics (although, sometimes i think there are some things that people who are a certain identity can be the only true experts on) so that I try to encourage actual engagement with ideas and walking them through thought processes rather than "I'm palestinian so just trust me."
Like even with my one fact checking list, idk if I succeeded but I wanted to emphasize that there are multiple factors you should consider when confronting ANY sort of information and should not blindly trust things. News sources have regularly burned or ignored Palestinians so I know a lot of us are really sensitive to these things, but I don't know! I hope people can engage with ideas more than just surface level thinking in general because it helps everyone when you actually interact with the point of view the other person is providing rather than just blindly trusting/distrusting people.

Okay, okay. I have thoughts (and feelings) on this latest episode of The Acolyte. (And no, this is not another post on Manny Jacintoâs armsâŠeven though đđźâđšđ„”).
This is the first episode since the first one that I can unequivocally (except for one aspect) say that I really liked. Where has this level of dialogue and character insight been the entire show!?
Manny continues to take the starring role in the show as The Stranger. Iâm seriously in awe of how compelling his performance is, how effortless heâs making it feel between all the switches of his personalityâhungover, drifting bum, to terrifying dark side user with chilling morals, to a calm, quiet, perfectly in control man who knows who he is and what he wants, what heâs capable of, and what the emotions of those around him are.
He and Sol have switched places this episode just as much as Osha and Mae have. Sol is unsettled, anxious, lost in tortuous thoughts of the past. So much so that he doesnât recognize that Mae has boarded the ship with him instead of Osha for (an agonizingly) long time. He starts to feel more like a villain when he finally figures out that Mae has tricked him, binds her, and then hovers over her menacingly after she wakes up. Heâs becoming unhinged and going rogue, even making sure that they leave the planet and that Vernestra cannot track him because he wants to go retrieve Osha alone. Why? What is he hiding??
Iâll go ahead and do my quick gripe with the episode here. I like Amandlaâs performance as Osha. I really canât get into her performance for Mae. Osha feels transparent in her mental state and desires and motivations throughout the show. Mae is very difficult to get a read on, and I donât mean that that is a bad thing when it comes to storytelling. I mean that itâs not working here. Sheâs gone back and forth like ten times in the last two episodes alone, wanting to compete her mission, then wanting to abandon it and turn herself into the Jedi so she can be with Osha, then fighting Jecki, then running from Qimir, then seemingly picking up the mission again so she can kill Sol, then not, then reprogramming her sisterâs droid in a very callous manner, then somehow knowing enough about ships that she can work with the power systems (which is her sisterâs area of expertise, not hers)âŠ.it just doesnât work for me.
I also think that Sol took too long to recognize her. Iâll give him the getting onto the ship and trying to get a message out bc his emotions are a wreck. But he should have noticed after that. I also think Basil is completely unnecessary as a character. Sorry.
Anyway, back to Osha and Qimir. Itâs a classic dark side seduction unfolding (I cracked up at the âif youâre not going to join meâ), but Manny is oh so convincing about it. We know as the audience that everything he tells Osha is a half truth. Itâs interesting to see how both the Jedi and the Sith in this show are kind of dealing with a half truth in how they are using the Force and teaching others. But itâs still very convincing, because heâs really not fueling it with overly grand promises or even his own ulterior motives, though he does have them. Heâs simply telling Osha what his version of the truth is. What his experiences have been. And how he thinks they overlap with hers.
The dialogue is wonderful. A great example of how monologuing to give us info we donât already have can actually work sometimes (looking at you, Ahsoka show). The line âwhy do you love people who can only go so farâ was a standout for me. Again, not the accurate truth, but definitely a âfrom a certain point of viewâ. Sol also reiterates that Oshaâs main characteristic has been love. So what is going to make her turn away from that? Anger? Feeling abandoned? Feeling guilty? Pinning an objectively hot Sith to a wall with his own lightsaber? SORRY. Sorry. đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł. Really loved the âwhen you lose everything, thatâs when youâre finally freeâ too, as well as âitâs just you and the Force. And what you bring with you.â
The fact that Qimir was a Jedi and might be much older than we expect is very interesting. I know very little about the Sith timeline from Legends, other than seeing names float about (Revan, Tenebrous, Plageous, etc). Iâm interested to see which named Sith they might slot Qimir in with, or if theyâre going to keep him completely separate from the main Sith line. He definitely does want to be a part of it though, given his âpower of twoâ comment. A discarded apprentice who seeks his own apprentice to gain power, not unlike one fandom favorite Maul, perhaps?
I also liked Vernestra in this episode. I got a little better read on her character in a short time and loved seeing her speed in the Force using her light whip. Itâs fascinating seeing her padawan be just as uptight and questioning as Jecki and Yord wereâŠalmost like this whole generation of padawans will grow up to be the masters who train the masters we see in TPM. What I would still like to understand better is why there seems to be such a split between the generations here. What outside or internal factors are influencing this? All theyâve shown is still is wanting to keep the senate and the council on good terms, but we donât know why.
(Side note: Her Universe or someone definitely needs to make the open shoulder sweatshirt Osha was wearing.)
If the whole show had been like this I would appreciate it a lot. As is I think Iâll enjoy where theyâre taking us but not necessarily how we got there. Hopefully the last two episodes will keep up the momentum.

Correction Course: What to Expect in SRBA Reloaded!
It took me a long time to get this post about since life kicked me in the pants, but as promised, I am going to make a full post addressing the criticisms leveled at SRBA and what will be changed in the remastered edition, Super Readersâ Biggest Adventure Reloaded.
Since Iâm not someone who canât learn from her mistakes, Iâll start off with the valid criticisms to my story, Super Readersâ Biggest Adventure, which I have addressed with others whoâve read the story in some private messages (those who read this, you know who you are ^^)
1. The religious themes. Iâm no less religious than I was when I first started, but going back I admit that the Christian themes were way, WAY overused here. I still laugh/cringe over the Jesus part myself, haha. I thought I was doing something cool there, but man. I really DID go overboard, and in all honesty, it wasnât necessary. For those who pointed it out, I take full responsibility for it, and apologize for that. Later installments in the Gaiden series do not have this, though, with Darkness Rewrite being the only exception due to Prince Charmingâs throwaway line. Reloaded does have a few metaphors/archetypes for several characters in the Bible (ie. Jeremiah is a blend of both David and Paul, while Chaosâ original character is supposed to mirror Saul before his fall from grace) and some parallels to Scripture, but I definitely wonât go crazy with that like I did in the original.
2. The worldbuilding/lore. For context, I wrote SRBA when I was in high school. So the quality of the writing isâŠmuch to be desired. I admit, I had trouble keeping track of the world building and lore for a while, and often when I was adding things into the Gaiden series, it was due to multiple, MULTIPLE rereads to make sure that I wasnât retroactively retconning everything I wrote back then. As it was my first time working on detailing a large world, and since I made up a lot of things on the fly, a lot of things didnât make sense back then. Iâve long since learned a lot about how to world build properly and am putting that into effect with the remaster, retconning and adding a few thingsâI wouldnât call myself a master, but Iâm not a beginner like I was before. While I donât hate the lore that I created for it, there are things that couldâve been explained better. There are some things that couldâve been shown earlier in the story rather than in the throes of action. There are a few things that could be removed (not sure where I was going with the Summoning Pin element, honestly). There are some things that couldâve been added (shouldnât the Fairytale World been taken over ages ago?). This is one of the main reasons I tapped this story to get a complete overhaul in the form of Reloaded, where I plan to change everything that was wrong with the original story. As for all the magical swords/Device ripoffs, they were supposed to be based off of Lyrical Nanohaâs Devices, but that wasnât made clear. I also put in references to Pretty Cure/Sailor Moon in regard to both Muse and Princess Presto, since theyâre like the magical girls of the team. I do apologize for that ^^;
Also, being a Black woman myself, thereâs gonna be more representation for BIPOC/women. It was a weak point in the original story (as the only other OC whose family gets prominence, Muse, is of Irish/Scottish descent), but Iâm gonna rectify that. Iâve decided to include Power Paige in Reloaded, as well as a few other characters, too. I didnât have a lot of confidence in describing appearances back then, much less scenes, and I realized recently that in trying to create a good descriptor for one of my OCs, I ended up unintentionally offending someone. And at the time of writing the original story, I had no idea that Red was Jewish (for context, I wrote the story when the original Woofster episodes aired, and didnât follow the series for a while until 2016, when the last few episodes were airing). So, yeah, going forward, weâre not having any stereotypes for BIPOC, period! Iâm planning on revising the first chapter of Darkness Rewrite to get rid of that descriptor for Ethan, because, like you said, it was a weird longer way to say someone had darker skin. As someone who interacts with people of various cultures, and makes sure to include that in my own stories, I admit, I dropped the ball here. But Iâm gonna fix that! Names were also a big thing that I struggled with. Iâll correct the names for the families of the Super Readersâ families (AKA. The ones who werenât properly named in the series) soon.
3. Character Development, Part 1: The Super Readers. As much as I like the Super Readers, I didnât really give them proper character development, with Wonder Red and Super Why being the most egregious. Iâd say the character that I (mostly) nailed in the original was Alpha Pig, while the character who got the worst end of the stick was Wonder Red, who was kinda reduced to a hotheaded Tsundere (and I did kinda keep up that energy in the recent entry, which Iâm gonna correct in the following chapters!). Whyatt wasnât terrible, but he was pretty blasĂ© in comparison to the othersâhe was just there to be the leader and thatâs it. Rewatching the series has given me a better idea on where to go with accurately portraying the characters, and of course, thatâs gonna be accurately represented in the remaster.
Oh, and while Iâm on the topic, the other villagers will get better character portrayals too. Little Boy Blue was demonized pretty early on, to where even I felt bad for him rereading the story.
4. Character Development, Part 2: The OCs. I hyped Muse up a lot during the introductory chapters, but nowadays I really dislike her character. Her character was very much underutilized and underdeveloped. I had more fun writing about the Super Readers and the history about her country rather than her, since they were way more interesting. Her personality is gonna get a complete overhaul in the remastered version, and she and the Evil Reader/Jackson will definitely get better character development and arcs that flesh out their characters.
On the topic of the Evil Reader/Jackson and Lexicon, their âredemption arcsâ were rushed and admittedly terrible. Well, Lexiconâs was slightly better than Jacksonâs, but I agree that justice wasnât served to the Super Readers or the victims they hurt in the story proper. They can basically be summed up as âmy past sucked and itâs the defining characteristic of who I am, but Iâm discarding as of today, please forget the people Iâve killed!â Which I agree is a pretty toxic way of achieving redemption, and I recognize and apologize for that. I did do this on purpose to have them go through a âtrial by fireâ where they learn that forgiveness for their actions isnât immediately earnedâquite a few characters in the Gaiden series (and even in Chaosâ Revenge) do not forgive or let Jackson or Lexicon off the hook, but thatâs not implied in the first story. Thatâll definitely be fixed moving forward, as seen below.
Iâm also very unsatisfied with Jackson/The Evil Readerâs character. I intended for him to be straight evil and then defeated, until I decided that Iâd do a redemption arc for him, and did one that was ripped straight off of an anime. Or, more specifically, a movie. I was originally going for an Anakin Skywalker kind of thing, and I realized that I pulled it off badly. I remember being quite proud of his backstory when I wrote it. Now, though? Ugh. Iâm going to be redoing his entire story, plus his history with his two best friends as well, in the remastered version.
Jeremiah, naturally, isnât gonna be a Gary Stu like he was in the original fic. He does have his own flaws, which are shown later on down the road, but honestly shouldâve been shown before the Gaiden series. He also shouldâve stepped in way earlier, especially when the Evil Readerâs true nature as Chaos was starting to be revealed (which ties into how the darker themes are gonna be handled). All of this are gonna be handled appropriately in the remastered version.
5. Way less shock value. Some scenes (such as the Pigâs brother slapping him âto his sensesâ scene) were added for shock value. I know now that this is NOT good writing, especially when it goes against the charactersâ canon natures. Plus, having a shocking scene after a shocking scene can really, REALLY get annoying after a while.
6. The Whyatt/Red romance. While it was one of the âselling pointsâ of the original story, it was cheesy. Itâs one of the things that I didnât like about the original because it felt rushed (I also wrote a romance fic alongside this way back when, so I donât really have an excuse!). Iâve already made like seven pages of notes for their romance in the remastered version, where their friendship is showcased as well, and how itâs not just one-sided on Redâs end.
7. Last but not least, the mature themes. The original SRBA got pretty gritty at timesâfrom more physical violence, to the villains possessing/enslaving the villagers, to the horrors of war, to characters outright dying/getting killed, to the implications of genocide. And then, thereâs the reveal in the Gaiden verse that Chaos is a predator. A lot of the Super Readersâ reactions/trauma to the events that happened in the original were pretty understated, I can concur with that. There are two chapters and a few moments that do address their worry, terror and fear about losing everything they hold dearâŠand thatâs it. If Iâm being totally honest, those arenât enough. To say nothing of the crap they learned about the Evil Reader in chapter 17. Thatâll get rectified in the remaster as well.
Now, Iâll finish this by explaining that I do write darker subjects in my writings. Those things do include, among other things, rape, SA, objectification/sexualization, suicide, violence (of several forms) andâif my Western series Blazinâ Trails is to go byâanimal abuse, racism and slavery. Iâll make this abundantly clear: I donât have a sick fascination with these things, and I do not advocate for any of these horrible things in real life. Sometimes, when I read these stories, when I see things that are just so awful, it literally runs through my head for hours, I write. I write it out to vent about it, to get my feelings out on paper, to break down why itâs wrong/cruel and most importantly, what can be done to end it and the suffering in peopleâs lives.
Itâs why, when I write these themes or villains who eagerly commit these crimes and laugh, I do it with the mindset that they are the lowest of the low. When I write villains like this, I write with the mindset that these are horrible beings who a.) need no backstory to justify their horrible actions and b.) need to be eradicated in the most fitting way possible.
And in all of the stories that feature one or any of these things, itâs made 1000% crystal clear that none of these things, nor the people doing them, are morally right, excusable or justified/vindicated by history. I also stand by the fact that rape/sexual assault is never the victimâs fault, itâs 100% on the perpetrator, regardless of the circumstances. I have one rule when writing about characters who commit such acts, or who supports such acts: if thereâs a character who believes that such things are right, they are swiftly dealt with, often violently. In fact, a lot of times, thereâs a visceral reaction to those things and the characters are trying to eradicate those things (as well as the people doing it) from the world they live in. I certainly donât let my villains (the ones who commit the aforementioned terrorism/sexualizing/etc.) get away with such actions.
I did address that yes, Lexicon and Jackson got away with the aforementioned genocide due to BS writing back when I was in school. In Reloaded, though? The difference is night and dayâJack and Mr. Beanstalk straight up kick their faces in for what they did to them and the kids, Jeremiah is much harsher in his beatdown of both of them and does reduce both of them to husks of their former selves when he steps in. And the Super Readers donât speak to them for much of the story, even after itâs revealed that Chaos is the true villain, âcause their earlier actions are still fresh in their minds and as such they donât trust them at all (and rightfully so).
As for Chaos, he gets dealt with in the appropriate manner befitting a predator by Jeremiah when they first fought (which is gonna be explained in Darkness Rewrite when I get to it). But just know that the mature themes of this story will be handled in the appropriate way/explained better than they were in the original.
I think thatâs everything thatâs gonna be changed. If I find anything else that needs to be changed, Iâll be updating this accordingly! ^^
Thanks to everyone who let me know what was up, as it really helped me to get all of this out.

Chapter preview under the cut
The distinct feeling of being watched pierced through the haze of Arogaâs jumbled thoughts. The white-haired girl stared up at her with her strange blue eyes. Donât look at me like that, Aroga thought, I canât help you this time. She felt absurd, willing the girl to read her mind. Well, maybe the girl could read mindsâAroga didnât know what she was capable of. Eventually, the girl turned away and gazed down at her feet.
When they arrived at their destination, a large tent on the edge of camp, Gorza dismissed the guards then reached into her pocket and sprinkled a handful of white sand onto the girlâs face. Instantly, she dropped to the ground. âCarry her in,â Gorza ordered without so much as a backwards glance. Aroga bristled at the cold professionalism but scooped up the sleeping girl as requested.
The tent was Gorzaâs private workspace, furnished with such battlefield luxuries as a table and chairs, a chest of drawers, and soft fur rugs. A fire burned in a stone pit in the center, the gray smoke billowing out through a hole in the roof. Three soldiers stood at attention when Gorza drew back the flap. These were not Ironfangâs orcs, Aroga knewâthey were Irkallu operatives who answered directly to Gorza and Gorza alone. When they saw the white hair streaming out from the unconscious girlâs hood, they gasped.
âBind her hands and feet, and gag her as well. She can use magic and I donât fancy her escaping,â Gorza said. As two of the agents hurried to carry out her commands, Gorza gestured to the third. âI have a special task for you. You are to take a warg to Lord Alistair and report the girlâs capture. Tell him I will keep her under my watchful eye until he sends some men to retrieve her. With my fatherâs main army closing in on Forgeheart, I cannot afford to send my own.â
The agent nodded, committing the message to memory. âShould I report on the siege? Lord Alistair is becoming impatient.â
Gorza sighed. She knew the agent was right but Forgeheart was a massive fortress, all but impregnable, and required the maximum amount of resources that Ironfang could muster. To gather that kind of strength took timeâtime that Alistair was being pressured to expedite. âTell him that we will begin the siege as soon as we may,â she said.
The agent acknowledged this, but his expression tensed. It was a message that wouldnât exactly gladden their lord to hear.
âItâs too bad we canât just break the siege with Bhorovane,â one of the others said.
âMy father would accept nothing less than complete command over him and I donât need to tell you how Bhorovane would take that.â Gorza shook her head. âIn addition, heâs still cross with us over the Castrum Ustarius affair. I donât think we can expect his help any time soon.â
âHe has too much pride. If he were more like his masterââ
Gorza laughed. âDonât let Bhorovane hear you call anyone his âmasterâ. Not unless you want to go up like a torch.â
The agent grunted. âJust saying that having a dragon would be handy, thatâs all.â

I just read you have alternate au endings in mind and Iâm VERY curious!! Do you have any posts abt them??
Hi !!!!
No, I probably don't... I can't say for sure but I doubt I have any specific posts about it. I talk a bit about some ideas here and I rant in general about the ending so much that there's a subsection in my table of contents (pinned post) about what I don't like.
Under the cut is a mishmash rambling of ideas lol...
So I guess I'll give you a brief run-down on what should change for me to be more on board with the ending. I hate Mikan having the stealing alice with a passion. I know that shows up pretty early, but I hate it and I usually forget about it because of how much I hate it so if I ever wrote a canon-verse fic (which I'm nervous about because of this very thing), she probably wouldn't have it, which would require me to shift a lot of other elements in the story. I just think it kills the importance of her nullification alice. She had a "useless", understated, subtle alice that could easily be taken for granted but that was actually super cool and useful in its own way, and the stealing alice is... not helping that issue. The stealing alice is immediately and clearly useful and showy and impressive, if a bit taboo. But that taboo element is rarely touched on with Mikan because she doesn't even know she has it for a while and she's immediately pretty okay with it when she does find out about it because it never really does wrong... Meanwhile, Yuka's story with the stealing alice is so much more meaningful because we get a deeper look into being outcast for her alice and how much of a burden it can be. Mikan doesn't have that relationship with the stealing alice, but its arrival undercuts her nullification alice and as a result her arc suffers.
I also think Persona took up way too much time. I don't really care if he has a redemption or not but the "We have to forgive everyone so we can all move and be happy now" message is so aggravating to me and not a lesson you should be giving a young audience so, I would get rid of that, or at least undercut it. (My issue with Persona's redemption is more about Mikan than him, actually.)
AND I HATE HOTARU SAVING NATSUME. I hate it so much. It's my least favorite part of the story, no contest. I'd delete that right away. Additionally, Mikan losing her memories has potential but none of it is used and then all of her relationships in the last chapter are minimized to elevate Hotaru, to the detriment of every other character on that beach, which pisses me off so much...
So I usually like an ending that looks like this: Mikan only has the nullification alice (and thus Yuka wouldnt have died, but would maybe have been put in a different bad situation, like maybe Mikan is still in the labyrinth as collateral over Yuka... that could be cool), and Natsume still dies (I love him dying) but Mikan saves him, and a huge help is Ruka. Maybe Mikan still loses her alice, and still loses her memories. In that case, the amnesia thing should be stretched out and actually used, instead of lasting a chapter because then it's just stupid and feels pointless. In this case, Hotaru should play a more subtle role (which is what she does best) and be the main one to chase after Mikan. That way the manga can still have the bookends of the best friends chasing each other, only this time it feels more equal. OR maybe Mikan doesn't lose her memories but since Yuka is still alive, she leaves the academy with her mom and they start some new life together for a reunion with friends later on.
OR she keeps her memories and doesn't lose her alice and instead everyone is happy at the Academy, particularly because Shiki is now in charge without the interference of the ESP so there's much-needed structural change that makes life at school a lot better and less prisonlike. TBH, I genuinely can't stomach the idea that the Academy doesn't undergo structural change because 1. That's such a cop-out and 2. It makes Shiki look bad and 3. It makes the whole story seem a lot more like child abuse apologism... which it isn't doing on purpose but OOF it is not a good look.
I also hate what was done with Goshima at the end there, so I would completely discard that.
Anyway, I actually do have plans on writing ONE idea of an alternative end at some point, but it'll require some thought and care so that fic will need some time to be written. If you have AU endings, please share because I hate the end we got and I don't think a lot of us actually like it, in the end.
#answered#technobro#gakuen alice#ga#sigh... the end makes me so mad genuinely my blood boils at just the thought of it#oh well!!!! i just pretend like it doesnt exist. genuinely the only time ive read it in recent history was for my essays.#otherwise i flat out dont even touch it. ive read those three chapters maybe 4 times ever?#and the last arc i also dont rly read#with mikan shaping up to leave and all that. its fine in theory but the ending sours it for me#i dont expect everyone to feel the way i do about the stealing alice ofc#i just... have never liked it and i have to remind myself sometimes that she has multiple alices#the only time i liked it was in a fanfic with a different take on alices... so not in canon at all#anyway if u have any ideas id be happy to hear!

Please read !
I've just been notified that an anon has spread false information about me to a creator whose work I am very fond of (@//fallinforgyu) and I am highly frustrated and on the verge of tears.
Here is that post:
This is highly upsetting and I can't read this properly without wanting to scream.
I started this blog in May of 2021, it hasn't even been a year yet. You can scroll down to my first post and see that. so I don't know what "quite a while" stands for, but being less that a year long isn't much.
This is my secondary blog, my main blog is "en-theheights" where, yes, I made it when I was a sophmore in high school, 4 years ago, when I was 15 (I created it cause I was a huge fan of the disney series Andi Mack. It's mostly for the western series I watch now, like 911 and other shows). I am now 19, and I rarely ever post on my primary blog. You can go and see that I post very rarely, if at all.
I don't use Twitter. At all. And I have ever posted, commented, reposted, or whatever the fuck else you an do on there. I go on there every now and then on my crusty dusty account that has ZERO followers to check in on what Enhypen is posting and when they are trending, as well as my other hobby which is watching Thai and Korean dramas. That's it. I have NEVER messaged anyone on Twitter, nor has anyone messaged me. And I have never been in contact with ANYONE on Twitter. Ever. like never ever in my life. And I just made that account back in August of 2020.
This is the last time I'm going to keep having to repeat myself. I am 19. I turned 19 February of this year. I made this secondary blog when I was 18 in May of 2021. It is now April of 2022, and I am 19 years old. I am 4 months older that Sunoo. I have my age posted in my Carrd account, which you can find on my pinned post that is linked to the pink "about !". It has always been there. This entire time. I'm sorry, I just realized my age isn't posted in my bio, but it is now. 18 is the legal age in the US, where I live, but I'm not even 18, I am 19.
I have in my bio for people to not interact with me if they are under 18, why in this big giant world, would I say that if I weren't even 18+..?
I come on here to have fun and write for a group that I love. I was just coming on here today to look through my request and write something cause I had the motivation for it. I took a long period without writing due to personal life shit, and I didn't think I would have to deal with stuff like this where I come to relieve stress. and Instead, I'm shaking with all types of frustration. I believe this is the same anon that crapped on me for my interpretation of Jake in a recent fic of mine, and I gave two fucks (and still don't). That is cowardly of them to continue to harass me cause their views were different than mine of an INTERPRETATION of a fic about enhypen. a fictional story about enhypen. At this point, I think I'm just going to delete it, and move on, cause this is a bunch of foolishness and has caused more problems for me than I have ever had in my entire Tumblr life.
If there is anyone that can get in contact with me to please get in contact with the en- writer @//fallinforgyu, I beg that you do. And please let them know this anon is spreading false information. I adore that content writer with everything in me, so please, if anyone can (@//fallinforgyu has blocked me bc they believed anon when they said I'm a minor, I am not, for the umpteenth time.)
I like to keep my personal life private off the internet. I'm not going to post my fucking birth certificate or driver's license so that I can satisfy such a cowardly anon. But I am 19, and I have never lied bout my age, nor have I ever talked to anyone on Twitter. Period.
I am going to continue writing bc that is what I love to do. I do this for fun and when I have the time to. I don't have time for an anon who got their feelings hurt and is deciding to take it to other accounts. Please, if you can, message me if you would be willing to talk to fallingforgyu for me!!! PLease, please, please!!!!
#enhypen writer#!kay! writer#!kay! writes#deleting some tags so i don't clog their spaces!#the situation has been handled!#thank you all!

My 4444-word review of NEO TWEWY (with personal illustration + heavy spoilers)
My overall critical score for the game is 7.5/10, while my personal enjoyment score is 8.5/10. This review is posted as I have 80% completed the game, got the secret ending and achieved the Angel psychic rank. Iâll first start with the main pros and cons as follows.
PROS:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Enjoyable as a whole, still upholding the first gameâs spirit in world building and sharing the same backbone - which was mostly revealed in the Secret Reports, itâs impossible to grasp the story without reading them.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The new cast and new game is charming in their own way
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The old castâs return is one of the biggest highlights for sure, it was fun and impactful. Everyone stays true to themselves and also had their own stories wrapped up nicely.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Boss designs are cool, new pins are fun to use and collect
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The connection between the old and new cast is well written and executed, including but are not limited to the tension between the old and new protagonist, the weird but fun interaction between the 2 Composers, the new friendships revealed and formed
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Sho being in the main cast is something so uniquely TWEWY and uniquely Sho
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Still good music
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Still many fun side quests, some of them really uphold the same quirky spirit of the old game and some are surprisingly touching
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Many new nice stores and yummy looking foods to explore
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The map is really easy to memorize for me, itâs fun to travel around the âcurrentâ Shibuya to see all the differences compared to the past
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The social network is crazy and interesting to read through
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Has an anti-frustration system to help 100% complete the game more easily and earn money faster, so post-game is relatively managable.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Overall, I really feel the efforts the team poured into making this as their passion project, not just during the development process but for all the last 14 years. They showed the vision of what they wanted to make, at the same time giving something to both the old as well as new fans.
CONS:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The biggest problem with the game is scenario writing. The story is so heavily back-loaded. The director himself thought it would be better to balance out the tension flow by adding more at the beginning but gave in to the scenario writer in the end, probably due to time pressure. This results in an underwhelming execution of characterization and lots of wasted potentials for the first half of the game. Â
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â I struggle to view it as a stand-alone game, since the backstory and the old cast both play such an important role in the core of the game. If someone plays this game without having played the OG, they can only enjoy it on surface value at best.
-       The new cast is nice but most of them arenât quite as intriguing as the old cast, maybe itâs cuz theyâre all too nice deep down that they lack a little bit of an edge, of that batshit craziness that everyone in the OG used to have? I think some characters (Fret, Nagi) ended up weaker in terms of characterization because the writer is too afraid of making them unlikeable â which kind of backlashed cuz they only became likable in the most expectable way to cater for a specific group of fans. I would have wished for the other team leaders to be more crazy too, had they not suffered 30+ loops of the GameâŠ
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The CAMERAWORK IS HELL.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Gameplay does get tedious at certain points with all the time travels.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Shiba is so badly written as a villain, some Shinjuku characters should be given more screentime cutting into Shibaâsâ like Hishima or Kaie or even, Hazuki (though his limited presence also solidified his importance).
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Some of the main character designs, for example Beatâs hairstyle and his food reactions are hilariously bad. Whatâs the point of covering up most of his unique facial features?
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Some of the minor/side charactersâ design are too cool for them to have such a small role (eg: Ayano, Eiru). Ryoji did get much screentime but is nowhere as fun as Makoto was.
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Overall the scope of this game is made a little too big for the team to handle as perfectly as the last game that was very compact, it felt somewhat rushed in development too so the missing pieces are clearly there in the final picture
The entry fee versus paying for it all in the end
An important difference between the Neo game and the original Shibuya game was that the Shibuya rule asked for an entry fee that is the Playerâs most important asset, stated as a chance the Composer gives them to reexamine themselves. Meanwhile, the Shinjuku rule neither encourages nor allows personal growth and ultimately aims to erase as many Players as possible. Itâs a pity we were never introduced to the full Shinjuku rulebook, as it seems like the system there focuses more on building up power and a grand government to compare with the individuality-driven system of Shibuya.
When you have to compare the new game and the original game (OG), this is an important factor to consider. Also, the OG has a serious storyline running through and through, locked with a different partner/GM creating unique atmosphere for each week and you donât get to see your old partners again until the end. NEOâs team system does not allow such deep insight and communication between the Players. All of your teammates are always there throughout, the dynamic does change with each new addition but it is not as prominent as a partner change.
Another important factor is how the OG was built from scratch for a new platform as âsomething no one has ever seen beforeâ, while Neo recycled a lot of old unused ideas from the previous development (check out this interview for more details). The development team for NEO lacks 2 key members and had a change of writer so the final product is not as strongly bound together as the last game.
The new cast is definitely inspired by todayâs teenagers (from the view of creators), compared to the old cast theyâre more sociable and always seem to take whatever works for them despite feeling unstable inside. They are all innocent and genuinely nice kids, avoiding to hurt each other to a degree that they end up keeping some sort of distance. Theyâre also unable to communicate at deeper levels, always stagnant at this half-baked stage of equilibrium without any motivation to get to the core of things. That is the cost of entering the game without an entry fee, without even dying or having a reason to be there/to fight seriously. These kids were stolen from the RG into a Game that was decidedly the worst environment for them to change or develop, just wandering around cluelessly to find a way âoutâ until tragedies started to unfold one by one and they ended up being charged the total sum of the price for their actions â ultimately losing everything in the end.
That is, I believe, a story arc which can resonate more to the youth of today rather than of my generation. If the message of the old game was to âlistenâ, enjoy life to the fullest and accept to trust others, the message of the new game is to âspeak upâ from the inside, trying to understand yourself and take actions instead of just going with the flow and finally, to take responsibility for such actions.
If Neku was handpicked by the Composer for being the special one with an all-dense soul to ensure victory of the game then Rindo was just a normal kid chosen out of random by Kubo to be his back-up plan, who just happened to have a high enough imagination to awaken the incredible power from his pin. Rindo was then officially chosen by the Composer as Josh picked up and handed the pin to him again, this time not as Joshâs personal Proxy â but as the Proxy to represent the normal people of Shibuya and via whom he could gamble if humans can fight for their own fate.
The underworld heroine and the hero with little of his own
Shoka is for me a refreshing and layered heroine. Sheâs the kind of character that took at least 3 trials of creators to form as a complete individual â that included Nomura who gave her the base design and Reaper background, Gen who gave a more cunning touch and the writers who made her English dialogues more punchy. Dishonesty equals âtsundereâ is such a clichĂ©, so the English writers tried really hard to avoid that trope in my opinion, while still letting her good intention come through.
She serves as the character who is informed of everything the players should have known, and there was almost nothing she could do about it. Almost. Until she met Rindo.
They were drawn to each other by sharing a state of ânot having anything of their ownâ. They both started out with not being able to truly know themselves, Shoka even hated her RG life but also managed to mature from that stage before Rindo. She must have vibed with Shikiâs love and passion in the Gatto Nero threads, initiating her connection with Shibuya and understanding herself more. With Shoka as Swallow, they were able to open up to each other and offer mental support⊠but was still not getting to the centre of their problems because for all this time, Shoka could not tell Rindo the most important things about herself.
How did Shoka feel when she met Rindo at the UG? She probably didnât want to hope that he would live the day until she witnessed the Twistersâ potentials. From the very beginning, they were both incredibly conscious of each other and also constantly frustrated that the person they happened to ânoticeâ was such a condescending bitch/a clueless loser. The Shinjuku Reapers are overall quite drunk in power and uncompassionate to Players, Shoka included. She is also a master of dissociation, which results in her constant boredom, tone swings, haughtiness and subconsciously distancing herself from the friend â the boy she cares about â from false hope, as she judged from facts that it was a hopeless situation where nothing could ever be. Maybe she is naturally a bit of a chameleon just like her name suggests (Shoka 玫éœè± = hydrangea, the color-changing flower), so putting on an act and always dissociating herself from whatâs important was easy, while hiding her contradiction was impossible. It was the ex-Reaper Beat who broke it out to her, that she should decide whether she really cared and wanted to do something for a change. He knew how it felt like to cross that line, and knew she wanted to too. Â
Shoka is endeared by many of the Shinjuku Reapers and has shown independent acts of kindness (the Shinjuku ghost), proving that her kind and truthful side is as real as her harsh and dishonest side â which makes her a nice mirror to the previous heroine Shiki, who also embraced a dichotomy of self-complex and self-love within her character. In the end, she was the first of the new cast to ultimately accept all that is important to her and independently made the decision to help save Shibuya despite all costs.
She was jealous at Rindoâs interaction with Tsugumi and Kanon but remained silent cuz she wasnât at a place to have any say about it. She also didnât reveal about Swallow because that would only add an awkward irrelevance to their current situation, as she was too ready to face erasure at the end of the Game. She only wished to âplay a gameâ with him, be it FanGo or the Reapersâ Game. The tension that the team could only feel at the end, sheâs felt it the entire time. The song âDIVIDEâ is applicable to not just one bond in the game, but it always makes me think of theirs. There is always a âdivideâ between her and Rindo throughout the course of their journey, as the living and the dead, as a Player and Reaper, as someone who has a place to return to and someone who doesnât, someone who knows little but wields too much power and someone who knows a lot despite not being able to do much.
âIf only I had the chance to connect with you on the other side
But time goes on, and without us realizing it
The battle is getting heated
Time goes on, and without us realiazing it
Divided againâ
To be honest, maybe I didnât grow any affection for the new main cast from Rindoâs perspective but from Shokaâs. Since I started to sympathize with Shoka, I started to see the boy in a more ârealâ way. The real Rindo, behind his peaceful façade with others, would lash out on Shoka for her unfairly harsh attitude while none of the others cared. He could also subtly feel that mantle of unspoken secrets from her, her own contradictions, the unresolved chemistry between themselves â and not knowing what to do with it rather than to feel angry with all the unfairness he could not process. (As a Libra too, heâs triggered the most by unfairness!)
It is actually a positive development as heâs at least âreactingâ to something strongly now rather than to keep evading his problems. During my replay, I clearly saw the difficult situation Shoka was in, her remaining harshness after the Motoi incident was due to her internal struggle with a mission to save her own life, versus a chance to really be with the team. Her decision was to do both at the risk of losing favour from both sides. Rindo started to accept her layer by layer, as the person who resonated the most to her contradicting nature from the start and knew that via learning her resolve, he has learnt his too.
Later into the game, she even got too much of his attention. Maybe even without knowing sheâs Swallow, heâs familiar with her thinking direction and Swallow had always been closer to him than any other friend. It was only after she had to betray her important ones twice that she could start being truly honest. The scene when she died a 2nd time left a strong impression in me, the little reveal let Rindo know that he is also losing Swallow as heâs losing Shoka â and that only death could drive the last secret out of her. Her final âLater, loserâ echoed through Rindo as it was the final truth, with only him remaining to hear it: they had actually, already lost everything.
Rindo was the boy who never dared to face all that matters to him until he lost it all, fighting an unfair battle in the faith that they would somehow still win. Shoka was the girl who always knew what was dear to her, but never dared to think she could be together with them ever after and still threw her all into a battle she knew was losing. I think they stir each other on naturally to fill out their gaps, similar to what the Shibuya game partner systerm would have aimed for. The end reward was a little divine intervention to help close up the divide between them once and for all. Â
During the game there was not enough space to process anything personal so at the ending when they officially became âfriendsâ, it was an important affirmation of their bond. Some people complained it was friendzoning but itâs not, they just have arrived at the perfect place to start something more. âFrom now on, we will truly be togetherâ â I read it as that kind of message. Â
The heroine from a lost battle, with her story taken away
After reading the secret reports and playing the game to be surprised of how small a role Tsugumi had in the main game despite being the âHype-chanâ thought to be a major character of the next TWEWY installment, many fans would feel sad at a missed opportunity to see the Shinjuku arc in full depiction.
It was shown clearly that, a Shinjuku arc was very carefully planned out and is a vital part of the whole story, yet it could not be made due to various circumstances behind the development scene. I would assume, that the team were not able to make a TWEWY game that ended on a despairing note, but it already happened in their mind, thus becoming a mental burden that forced them to break away from it and started the game anew with NEO. A significant part of NEO became the healing arc for the Shinjuku characters, especially for Tsugumi though I really wished more emphasis should have been placed on her rather than Shiba. We didnât even get to see her brother â Shinjukuâs Conductor who had a vital role and instead was given the clueless Shiba, who had absolutely no idea whatâs going on all the way until the last day in NEO. Itâs as if Tsugumi has had her story stolen away from her, because her own battle ended with a saddening loss.
I think every time the game creators look at Tsugumi, they would feel that sadness too. Maybe to them, she is a bigger character than what is seen by the fans, as despite their failed effort to depict her story, sheâs lived in their mind for all these years through periods of destruction, healing and rebuild.  Though it is a pity we could not get to experience the full scope of the Shinjuku story, the creators was clear about the place they wished for it to arrive at.  Â
Individuality, connection and the social network
The team system adapted from Shinjuku rulebook does not allow much room for personal development, as the team dynamic is closer to a work relationship forced to bear results, than a spiritual bond to max out all corners of understanding as found in the partnership system. The old Shibuya system allowed only 1 winner and 1 week limit per game, while the new rule declares for a 1 winning team and only the team at last place will be erased â the other teams will enter another loop. Furthermore, whichever team to challenge the unwinnable Ruinbringers will face the risk of ending up dead last followed by erasure. As a result, the longest-standing teams are most likely not the strongest ever recorded, but the ones who have figured out a strategy to simply survive until something changes, enjoying their newly found social constructs while they are at it. Basically, it is a system to hypnotise players into the illusion that they are still âlivingâ.
Therefore, we as players would not get to the core of each Player individually as fast and directly as we did in the last game. The Twisters were able to stand out not because theyâre powerful, they only started to have a real chance after growing enough to each form a meaningful and personal connection to another teammate. It did not come as a team, nor did it intiate from the existing friendship between Rindo and Fret. In fact, I did not find much solidity or anything truly note-worthy about the main team and new characters within themselves until they started clashing with other team members, Reapers and new recruits from week 2 onwards. Rindo found his personal development with Shoka (via a clash with Motoi and pretty much a mini dating sim between them), then via the confrontation of his role with Neku; Fret found his with Kanon then Nagi, the team learned about the real Neku via Beat, Neku entered the UG via Cocoâs wish to save Tsugumi⊠it was not the team but their personal links that empowered them to fight and solve each of their problems.
The other team leaders may have failed because they did not form such personal links, after 30+ hopeless loops Fuyaâs team all fell apart to pursue their own interest even at the cost of erasure, Motoi quit his KOL façade to work like a dog for the Reapers (probably to save just his own ass not his team), while Kanon dropped her tricks to find changes via honest cooperation in acceptance of a fair loss. The despairing note in that is huge without making much of a scene because their failure didnât happen at their best effort to âwinâ, but in their last attempt to find a way âoutâ. Even Shiba got his way âoutâ in the end thanked to his personal friendship with Hishima and Tsugumi.
Something has shifted in the mindset of the game creators in the last 14 years, as both games are about âconnection vs individualityâ but the last game focuses more on connection between just individuals and this one on the overall network that is formed out of those individual connections.
The introduction of Beat into the main cast was truly the bridge between old and new, they helped each other out in several turns before officially recruiting him. Beat is a character whom a lot of fans including myself have felt somewhat concerned about after Neku disappeared from the RG, so when the new kids welcomed Beat with warm and organic interaction and Beat seemed happy, I started to feel like I wanted to help them out too! I think the overall team chemistry is enjoyable enough for new players, but I could warm up to the new kids more from the pov of a returning character â whom Iâm glad to be Beat, as the older brother figure who is genuinely kind, fun, serious and upbeat at the same time; who is needed and needs the kids in return.
The social network is a fun and refreshing feature. You can read all of the crazy tidbits about Shibuya and the links each character have formed with the town people, itâs also fun to visualize how the characters act off screen. Charactersâ profiles provide extra insight into their background too, like how it reveals Tsugumi has been friend with Coco during her time in the RG. During the game when not all characters have showed up, you can sometimes guess which empty spot will belong to whom. For example there is a 1 character linking to Neky that is not linked to anyone else, so I could guess that was Joshua, and that another character linking only to Joshua was probably Hazuki, hinting that the 2 Composers are related before either of them even showed up.
Hazuki only showed up for 5 minutes, but his presence is so vital and true to the game that I think he is the most memorable out of the new cast. The two Composers have such an intriguing bond, with their yin/yang or phoenix/dragon themes, opposite color design, the sempai/kouhai tone and the way they keep some sort of distance/work relationship as if itâs mandatory between Higher beings, yet at the same time they can talk so casually because they are truly equal â and different from one another. I have written a separate meta on them here.
Some people pointed out, that all Shinjuku charactersâ names and themes are based off Hanafuda cards and the Phoenix in Hanafuda belongs to the Paulownia suit â which is Joshuaâs name flower. This is so interesting because it feels like the creators somehow saw it as a sign to interweave the Shibuya and Shinjuku storylines together. Though it doesnât come out much on the surface, itâs fascinating nonetheless considering both Josh and Haz had at some point interfered with the other townâs affairs.
âShibuya tour with Hazâ was such a special scene, as it happened between 2 characters who do not/no longer have a reason to care about Shibuya, on the subject of what is worth saving about Shibuya. Hazuki carried out the purification of Shinjuku and stepped in to restore Shibuya just as part of his job and unlike Hanekoma or Joshua who both possess profound understanding of humanity, he really didnât know humans at all. Rindoâs irrational wish invoked in him a sense of curiosity, to try gambling on something irrationally and learning a bit of what his senior have experienced. With all the pieces put together, it provides an overview on Higher beings as a whole, and that Joshua and Hanekoma are really the odd ones out with Hazuki being somewhere in between them and the rest. Â Â Â Â
The old friends
Itâs easy to have returning characters overshadow the new cast as they have already matured out of their personal story arc and stayed in our hearts for all this time. In the end, I have managed to enjoy both the old and new cast separately and altogether, and they will both find their own place in our memory of this game for the long term.
Sho is truly as crazy as ever, the game wouldnât be the same if Sho is any less of what he is. Sometimes it doesnât feel like Neky or Beat is younger than Nagi at all, with moments when it seems like Neky has aged 14 years instead of 3 years. His friendship with Coco surprised me pleasantly, and their interaction together with Beat was fun to watch. Rhymeâs found a new dream and her friendship with Kaie is precious too, especially considering that she can still talk to him online after the game ended. Josh and Nekuâs interaction suggested that they have resolved the past and are on equal terms now, they even parted ways in good spirit and I donât feel any worry about them like I did before.
Neku and Shikiâs reunion scene was beautiful, theirs is such a special bond that it has grown and supported them even without being able to see each other. I am so happy to see them all again and that they stay true to who they are, albeit looking more grown up, cooler and happier than ever before. Â
Overall, NEO canât become a classic on par with the OG, but is definitely a good sequel and a good game in its own rights. Iâm happy with whether or not there will be a 3rd game to complete the 3 monkeys theme, but if there will be â I hope the creators can really find the time to learn from the last 2 games and start over with a fresh mindset and strong core. Burn The Witch 5 - Cross Your Heart [Bucky Barnes x Reader]
A.N: Thank you so much for your wonderful support and feedback my loves ! †Hereâs the next chapter, I hope you like it as well and please let me know what you think! †Thank you! â€â€â€
Warnings: Enemies to lovers, fake dating, mentions of blood, sex, violence, death, manipulation, language, guns, knives.
Summary: Lying is supposed to be easy for spies.
Series Masterlist
You were beginning to think undercover operations were some sort of punishments given to agents, because lying was one thing, but creating a whole life around that lie was another.
Not only were your knives replaced by a bunch of paintings on the wall, you now had some photos in frames; old photos of people you didnât know, people who were supposed to be your âcoverâ family.
Youâd still prefer to have your knives on the walls though.
âYouâre my best friend, youâre supposed to be on my side!â you pressed the phone between your shoulder and your ear, and heard Chloeâs laugh.
âI am on your side, I just canât do anything about your uniform.â
You plopped down on the couch, setting your heels down on the floor.
âBucky might be from 1940s, but he knows that itâs the 21st century now,â you said, putting the heels on, âNo reason to make me dress like aâŠ.weird pin up waitress.â
âItâs a part of your mission,â she reminded you, âWhat, you can kill a target with a wine glass but a pin up costume is where you draw the line?â
You clicked your tongue, âAnyone can kill someone with a wine glass. Itâs not that hard.â
âI donât think so.â
âBabe itâs not rocket science, you just break the bowl part, then use the stem to stab them in theââ you got distracted when you opened the kitchen cabinet, âIâm sorry, why do I have so many kitchen supplies?â
She held her breath in excitement, âDo you like them?â
âI donât know what to do with most of them.â
âCover Y/N likes cooking!â
âAnd the real Y/N canât stand her,â you deadpanned, making her stifle a laugh.
âSo he hasnât texted you yet?â
âBarnes?â you asked, âNot yet. Why?â
âWell, I took the liberty of taking a look at his messages the other day.â
âOh God, donât tell me,â you said, âHeâs seeing someone else?â
âNo no, not at all,â she said, âHeâs totally single, and probably ready to mingle. With you, that is.â
âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â
âHe and Wilson were talking about you the other day. Well, more like Wilson was telling him to get his shit together and ask you out.â
âI donât think heâs the type to ask someone out via text,â you said, âI think he will come to the shop one of these days.â
âWhy?â
âHe looked sort ofâŠ.â You searched for the word in your mind, âUh-clueless?â
âClueless?â
âYeah, you know how assassins usually flirt,â you ignored her noise of disagreement, âHe wasnât like that.â
âYou really need to focus on the personal details of his file.â
You scowled, âWhat is that supposed to mean?â you asked, âI know his favorite weapons, what knives heââ
âPersonal file,â she repeated, âYou know thereâs more to people than their weapons of choice right?â
âI might have to engage in combat if Iâm ever compromised, and do you know how many people walked away alive after engaging in combat with the Winter Soldier in all these decades?â you asked, âThree. Three people; Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, Natasha Romanoff, and they are legends. I might be good, but Iâm not that good.â
âJust memorizing his arsenal canât help you in this mission,â she said, âDid you know that he hasnât exactly dated since becoming the Winter Soldier? His ex Connie ended up having 3 kids and a long career at the post officeââ
âWhat am I supposed to do Chloe, stalk grandmaâs Instagram?â
âNo, she passed away 5 years ago.â
âOf course she did,â you mumbled, âListen, I donât have time for this. Iâm already knee deep in my own cover, I canât get into Barnesâs past when itâll give me no advantage in the mission.â
âY/N-â
âTrust me,â you cut her off, looking in the mirror to fix your uniform, âI have everything under control.â
                       ***
You had maybe like one thing under control and that was the milkshake you were currently pouring into a mason jar. After a crash course in different recipes yesterday, you barely needed any help from your coworkers and seeing that the shop wasnât very crowded, you didnât have to rush.
And now you knew how to make three things; pasta, eggs and milkshakes.
If Keith were here, he wouldâve said those were 3 main food groups.
âTara, weâre running low on maraschino cherries,â you said as you shook the can and your new coworker turned to you.
âOh thatâs okay, thereâs another jar are under the counter.â
You put the cherry over the whipped cream, and handed the jar to her. âThere you go.â
âAnother week of working here and you will come up with your own recipes,â she said, âTell me the truth, are you like a spy sent by a rival company?â
You stared at her, then forced a laugh.
âI wish,â you said, âMaybe Iâd be paid more.â
âGood point,â she said and walked to give the milkshake to the customer while you put the empty jar aside, then went under the counter to search for a new jar.
âStrawberriesâŠ.â You read the labels out loud as you heard the wind bells chime by the door, âFigs, berriesâcherries!â
You reached out to grab the jar and stood up but as soon as you did, you caught the sight of the figure by the door and held your breath, the jar slipping from your grip before you caught it mid-air.
âBucky.â You breathed out, before you remembered to plaster a smile on your face.
NaĂŻve, soft hearted civilian.
He stole a look around as if he expected someone to attack him at any seconds in a milkshake shop before he stepped closer to the counter you were standing behind.
âHi.â
âHi-hi there!â you said, putting the jar down, âYou came!â
âYou sound surprised,â he smiled and you shrugged your shoulders, shooting him a mischievous look,
âBetter late than never, I suppose.â
He hissed in a breath, âOuch, was it that late?â
âJust a little,â you said âSo what can I get you?â
He looked up at the board over the wall, âWhat are my options?â
âWell, we have Unicorn Cotton Candy, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Candy Cane Passion, Lavender Macaronââ you stopped talking when you saw the clueless look on his face and cleared your throat, âOr hey, maybe chocolate? We have chocolate milkshake.â
âChocolate sounds good.â
âComing right up.â You took a mason jar from the shelf to get to it and he grabbed his wallet, making you raise your brows.
âDonât even think about it.â
âOh come onââ
âIâm going to make you an overly complicated milkshake if you try to pay for this,â you warned him, shaking the can before putting whipped cream on top of the milkshake, âItâs on the house, I owe you.â
âYou donât owe me anything,â he said quickly, making you point at him with the straw.
âEither way, Iâm warning you. Iâm armed and dangerous.â
âConsider me intimidated,â he said with a grin as he put the cash into the tip jar and you narrowed your eyes.
âBucky.â
âWell technically, tip doesnât count.â
âI wonder where I heard that before,â you muttered under your breath while he walked to pull himself a seat.
âHm?â
âNothing,â you said, reminding yourself that your cover probably wouldnât make dirty jokes and went to place the milkshake in front of him.
âThank you.â
âDonât mention it.â You waved a dismissive hand and rested your elbows on the counter, leaning in slightly.
He was gentleman enough to not check out your cleavage, instead kept his gaze on your face, making you suppress a smile.
âYou were right,â Bucky said, his eyes darting around the cafĂ© after a couple of seconds, âAbout how this place looked. It is creepily accurate.â
âReally?â
âI mean we didnât have a neon flowers corner, butâŠâ he trailed off, âYeah. Yeah, I would say so.â
âIs that why you look like you expect someone to jump out of shadows and attack you?â you asked and his head shot up before he scrunched up his face.
âThat obvious?â
âNot that I have lots of experience but so far none of the customers looked this uncomfortable while drinking a milkshake,â you said, âIs it because deep down you actually wanted to try Unicorn Cotton Candy?â
âOh no, Iâm good with classics,â He held up his milkshake, âNo I just think that Iâm a bitâŠ.uh, rusty.â
âRusty,â you repeated, âOn what?â
âOn this.â
You batted your lashes, looking up at him and you could almost feel him being lured in.
âIâm sorry, I donât follow,â you said softly after a beat and he gulped, taking a deep breath.
âItâs just that youâreââ he cleared his throat, âYouâre very beautiful and itâs been decades since I last asked someone out for a date.â
Winter Soldier, credited with over 100 assassinations, you reminded yourself Donât lower your guard, itâs just a cover.
Donât believe in your own cover.
You bit down a smile, tilting your head.
âWell, I didnât think you were rusty,â you said and he raised his brows.
âYou didnât?â
âNot at all,â you said, âFor the record, Iâm definitely going to say yes.â
âAre you?â
âAbsolutely,â you grinned, âOnce you actually ask me, that is. With words, not an implication.â
His smile was almost playful, âWith words, huh?â
âIâm old fashioned like that,â you taunted him, âLetâs see how we can make it less awkward for you though. Would you feel more comfortable to ask me out if you knew some weird stuff about me?â Â
âYou know, that would help a lot actually.â
You tapped your fingernails on the counter, looking up at the ceiling, pretending to be in deep thought. Your superiors had always said the best cover stories were somehow based on real life without revealing your identity, so you figured telling him random things about you wouldnât hurt or put the mission in danger.
âWell, I really like grapes but I donât like the skin, so I end up peeling every grape I eat, one by one,â you counted with your fingers, âI watched a documentary once and now I canât swim in any lakes because I keep thinking Iâll get attacked by that weird flesh eating bacteria. When I was sixteen, I was the president of the chess club but I had a boyfriend who didnât believe in the moon landingââ
âI heard about the moon landing!â he said quickly, âI didnât get around to watch it yet though.â
âOh my God, you should.â
âWhat else?â
âIâm scared of peacocks,â you confessed, âI know everyone says theyâre beautiful but they look like theyâre waiting for the right time to attack you.â
He looked like he was fighting with himself not to laugh and he pressed his metal fist on his lips, his whole attention on you.
âYou canât laugh!â you exclaimed and he shook his head, trying to look as serious as possible.
âIâm not!â he managed to hide his chuckle with a cough, âKeep going, this is very helpful.â
You heaved a sigh. âWell, do you want to hear the most embarrassing one?â
âAbsolutely.â
âI normally keep my phone on mute 24/7 but since last week itâs been on full volume because I was terrified Iâd miss something important.â
The amused light in his eyes got softer and he lowered his hand, a smile warming his face.
Hook, lineâŠ
âI was umâ I was hoping for you to call, you see.â you said, averting your gaze from him to look down for a second, biting on your lip.
His voice was raspy; âWere you?â
You shrugged your shoulders, mumbling an inaudible maybe, and his eyes trailed down to your lips before snapping up to lock your gaze in his.
âWhat time do you get off work today?â
And sinker.
Time to pull back.
You sucked in a breath through your teeth, âI work at the soup kitchen tonight.â
âOh âI thought you said it was on Mondays and Wednesdays.â
âI did, Iâm just covering for a friend tonight. Family emergency, she says.â you said and pushed your hair behind your ear, shifting your weight, âBut my shift is over at 6 tomorrow and I can be ready around 7, I live really close by. If youâre- if youâre free, that is.â
âI am.â
âItâs a date, then.â
âItâs a date,â he repeated and stood up, âSee you tomorrow, Y/N.â
âSee you tomorrow Bucky.â You smiled as he walked out of the shop and Tara came closer to you.
âWow, youâve been here a month and you met someone that hot?â she said and winked at you, âGood job there.â
Right.
Good job.
                       ***
âSo, waitââ Chloe came closer to sit between you and Keith, holding a huge bowl of popcorn, âHe just showed up?â
âMm hm.â
âAnd you have a date tomorrow?â
Keith uncapped your beer and handed you the bottle as you rested your feet on the coffee table.
âYouâre being careful, arenât you?â he asked you and you nodded.
âSure.â
âHe doesnât suspect anything?â
âNo, heâs buying this whole naĂŻve soft hearted civilian thing,â you said while Chloe snatched the remote from Keithâs hand, ignoring protests.
âAnd are you?â
You dragged your eyes from the list of movies on the screen. âI want a horror movie.â
âWell too bad, I want an action movie.â
âWeâre watching a rom-com and thatâs final!â Chloe pointed at both of you, making you groan.
âWhy does this keep happening?â Keith asked to no one in particular and she snapped her fingers.
âItâs my turn and my place so I pick the movie,â she said and shot you a look, âIâm still waiting for an answer, by the way. You donâtâŠ.you donât have feelings for Barnes, right?â
Keith stole a look at you before turning to Chloe,
âI donât think our dear friend here wants a relationship beautiful,â he told her, âNot after what happened the last time.â
You could feel the goosebumps rising on your arms as a shiver ran down your spine.
âI donât even know Barnes all that well yet, but I can assure you heïżœïżœïżœs not the type toââ you paused, âDo something that cowardly.â
Keith gritted his teeth. âWhere is that asshole anyway?â
âHungary,â Chloe said and you raised your brows.
âUndercover?â
âYeah. I hope he gets compromised and dies there.â
âVery unlikely,â you murmured, âAnyways, what brought this on? My feelings for Barnes?â
âItâs just that I recently read Vincent Smithâs file,â she said, âYou guys remember Vincent?â
âWho?â
âHis code name was Marco.â
âOh, I remember Marco!â Keith said, âThat guy took down a whole unit by himself. What happened to him?â
âHe is missing.â Chloe said and you pulled your brows together.
âSince when do agents go missing and we donât know where they are?â
âSince they fall for the target.â
âNo way,â Keith chuckled, âBadass spy Marco fell in love? Poor idiot.â
âYouâre a terrible person, Keith.â
You sat up straighter, âWait, did you say he fell for the target?â
âYeah, I saw the reports from his handler. And now heâs missing, and I donât want you to run away with Barnes like Marco did with his target.â
You and Keith exchanged glances and you clicked your tongue.
âChloe babe, heâs not missing.â you said âHeâs dead.â
She pulled back slightly, âYou donât know-â
âYes I do. You donât fall for the target and compromise the whole mission, not unless you want to end up dead.â
âThereâs no report of that,â she insisted and Keith sipped his beer.
âWhat did his report say, sweetheart?â
âThat he was removed from his mission before going missing.â
Keith scoffed, âRest in peace Marco, you wonât be missed.â
âHow do you knowââ
âBecause thatâs the code,â you said, âIf the report says he was removed from his mission and went missing, it means he was killed by an agent on our side.â
âWe killed our own agent?â she exclaimed and you turned the beer bottle in your hand,
âHe stopped being our agent the moment he fell for the target.â
Chloe covered her mouth with her hands, worry etched into her expression, âY/N, please, please promise me you wonât somehow get too involved in this mission and fall for Barnes and put yourself in danger.â
You let out a small laugh, grabbing a handful of popcorn.
âItâs the Winter Soldier weâre talking about,â you reminded her and chewed on the popcorn, âTrust me, that would never happen.â
âCross your heart?â
You heaved a sigh and clinked your beer bottle with hers.
âCross my heart honey,â you assured her, âThereâs no way Iâd sign my own death warrant by doing something that stupid.â Â

@evilpuzzlingpapercrown and also @eternallyworm because i havenât been checking evilpuzzlingpapercrown recently and missed the latest response by several hours even though i was kinda online at the time
~ now here is the message that took me 2 hours to write (i got distracted)~
shimmying into your inbox hello hello an irl almost found out i was a system today by following one of my alter blogs. âšyippieâš
tbh!!! idk if he actually realized because 1. he didnât like the pinned post but 2. he sent an ask saying âomg itâs youâ (possibly a reference to the inclusion of âmy main is puzzlingpapercrownâ in the top of the pinned) 3. he still might have not read the read more 4. i sent them the men and black gif and they were confused 5. i immediately blocked him from that blog and privated the pinned 6. we have had 3 conversations since then and she never mentioned it
conclusion? i have no freaking idea what iâm doing ever đ
claps my hands together i am here. today. to talk. aka to answer the question you handed me in the last ask response but i have lots to say⊠so itâs another ask BABY. okay iâll admit my typing style is kinda fucked right now but weâre managingÂ
i feel like making some like short responses to some things in the response to the ask before covering the question so here we go (imagine me doing that silly drumming on the desk that like hyper salesmen do. or something)
freaking hyped that i have the dahlia hawthorn seal of approval. like for real we are quite thrilled. we are quite hesitant with interacting with anyone so i am thankful for this. there will likely be an ask one day in dahlias inbox(most likely from Jupiter tbh)Â
shaking hands on the switching thing. i think the worst time a difficult switch was like *trying* to happen was one of my drivers ed driving sessions. like in the middle of driving and my eyes are unfocusing and my brain is literal soup and that was a freaking moment for real. didnât stop till i like got home and crashed. it also prompted me to think âhypothetically if i was a system perhaps and maybe that was a switch or SOMETHINGâ
okay and also thatâs so interesting that thereâs those tiny shifts in appearance for ya. i donât know but itâs just interesting to hear an individual experience on stuff (for me itâs like a change in perception of my appearance. like i look different and feel different about how i look depending on whoâs fronting. even if i look the exact same thereâs something off in the brain and itâs so funky)
OKAY AND QUESTION YOU ASKED ME teheheÂ
â do you also like... ever feel the process of a memory actively getting repressed?â
okay tbh yes. and itâs like uh. thereâs multiple ways this sorta happens.
for starters i can very much tell when a period of time is going into the hashtag memory vault because i will have the worst memory of the events while theyâre happening. most recently i can recall, i forgot in full basically everything about after 24 hours of it happening. everything i remember is what my sister said about it afterward. yippie!
however even smaller events i can sorta figure out that theyâre going to be hashtag in the vault in the moment. itâs like our perspective feels small and maybe even blurry all around. and then even directly trying to recall events from within that moment are very choppy.
idk how to describe it but itâs there.
and! with some important information weâve developed a system of like for fully logging information. so like an important memory we will sorta lock an image and singular thought into the brain regarding the event as a way to make sure everyone has a memory of the moment. this was a tactic we came up with long before realizing we were a system which is funny.Â
so a good amount of my memories from like a while ago are singular faded images with like a sentence of thought.Â
okay i realize this is even longer than before but iâm having the time of my life with talking about this hahdjfj okay yeaÂ
i also did stop for like an hour to look on instagram and fell down a rabbit hole of small buisness making makeup brands. yea
ANYWAY PEACE AND LOVE âšđâšđâšđâšÂ YEAAAAAA (but for real thank you for listening and talking iâll try and respond in the comments this time)
HIYA!!! Hoping answering this activates something in me TM because I'm getting such nice asks on both my alter's sideblogs but i want them to front to answer them :((( hopefully they decide 2 say smth but for now just me Mare again!
absolutely fascinating and yet horrifying experience oh my God. see I'm playing with fire b/c the first person I would ever tell about systemhood is my best friend who is also the only person i know IRL that has access to this blog. so it's like I wouldn't hate it if xe sees this but also it's pretty dicey that it's written all over this blog and xe definitely could see it. but. shrugs.
still. goddamn that is either lucky or like. unfortunate. either way uhhhh hope things r alright with that
yep! Dahlia's approval is hard to acheive and I can say that because she hated me at first but now she's basically my older sister so we chill we chill. yeah idk she's a cynic so she likes The Good Intentioned TM and appreciates that u guys are like. so caring and kind to me all the time. and also finds you all funny. so like. thumbs up emoji
OUGH THAT'S AWFUL!!! HATE THAT HATE THAT. Long switches fucking SUCK don't know how long u all have those, typically ours don't last too long but the first time Nightshade fronted. hoo boy. that was a rough 30 minutes . still Drivers ed.... fucking SUCKS goddamn.
totally get that w perception, i think sometimes it's like that for us but usually even if our face looks the same there's something about the way we hold ourselves that's distinctly different. like how we set our jaw or the way our eyes slant or something. yeah!
THAT'S SO INTERESTING WAIT. the fact that you guys have a memory storing system for important memories is SO so fascinating and like. i'm so glad u have that bc that seems to be so helpful!!! from how u describe it at least idk i hope it's helpful! and the blurriness is interesting and also hashtag relatable; for us it's less blurriness and more exhaustion but at some point exhaustion becomes blurriness. at any given point in time if someone in the headspace wants me to not think about something they put my brain in sleepy mode and i can't think. assigned naptime at hosting
if any businesses stand out or seem super cool feel free to share with the class bestie
yeah :D u can talk to me whenever i mean that. im sorry im so bad at answering ur asks i always wanna give them my full attention unfortunately i have the worst attention span in the world. promise i love talking to u all though :D

âWhat happened? What the hell happened. Why do you make it so hard to love you?â
Kai Anderson x GN!Reader
This is definitely not good enough to enter, but I used the prompt from @tatesimper anniversary writing competition so I guess this is my entry? (fig, Iâm so sorry for butchering such a good prompt lmao)
also, I realised when writing it that this could serve as a prologue to this fic:
https://americxn.tumblr.com/post/652835852669648896/paranoia
wordcount: 2.5k
warnings: genocide/murder mention, swearing (this is based off episode 11 of season 7)
The night air was cool on your exposed face as you took the front steps to the door of Kaiâs house, not bothering to knock as you pushed it open, the warmth and light from within spilling onto the smooth concrete of the front step and pooling around your feet; having been in a committed relationship with Kai from a year and a half now, this house was practically your own. Stepping past the front porch after abandoning your shoes and jacket, you entered the uncharacteristic quiet of the house, scanning the hallway for any signs of life, usually abundant within these walls in the form of Kaiâs blue shirt-clad, blindly deferential followers.Â
âOkay. A little bad news to start,â your body instinctively angled towards the voice, distinctly Kai, that sounded through the empty hall from the back room. You set off down the hallway, his voice growing in volume as you approached, somewhat confused. He hadnât notified you of a scheduled cult meeting that evening and yet his tone of voice was threaded with the assertive cadence that he utilised only when addressing his followers. âIt turns out finding a thousand pregnant women to murder is super hard. No one will ever accuse me of lacking ambition.â He continued as you reached the threshold to the large room at the back of the house that served as a secondary living room; breath catching in your throat, you halted, your hand reaching for the wood of the doorframe to steady yourself as the meaning of his words settled into you. To murder? âSo, Night of a Thousand Tates is off.â A ripple of groans and dejected sighs rose from the small sea of men at Kaiâs words, quickly falling silent to allow him to continue. âBut, Night of One Hundred Tates is on.â His words sent a wave of prickly dread spider walking down your spine; he hadnât told you about any of this. Killing a thousand pregnant women? You wanted to stride into the room with a bright laugh to wave away his abhorrent words and demand for the real reason that he had called a meeting. But you knew. A terrible, truth filled part of you was all too aware that he was deadly serious A chorus of thrilled cheers drifted up from the small crowd in twisted elation with the newly revealed knowledge that their hands would still be stained with blood by the end of the night. Your breath became too loud in your ears, your mouth turning utterly dry as you examined your suddenly empty mind for a solution to Kaiâs monstrous plan that you could use to convince him to call it off. But you came up short, taking a small step back into the safety of the dimly lit hall, your back coming to press against the wall beside the open doorway to ensure that nobody would be able to see you eavesdropping from within. This was too far. Kai had done many questionable, twisted things over the past year but this... this was too far. You were full of self hatred for the amount of things that you had stood aside for and let Kai go ahead with, but not this. You refused to take so much of an ounce of accountability for this. Pulling your phone from the confines of your back pocket, you drew in a shuddering, grounding breath, your thumb working on the keypad. The digit shook as it pressed onto the screen, your teeth catching between your lower lip as your gaze flicked from the brightness of the deviceâs screen to the open doorway at your side. The sequence of 911 you had typed glared up at you, bathing the underside of your jaw in artificial light as you craned your neck, leaning forwards slightly to peer into the room. Kai stood by the far wall, his men arranged in a neat group before him, all sitting straight backed to attention on their chairs. Just behind Kai, displayed on the low table pushed against the wall were two silicone models of a womanâs torso, ripe with the swell of a baby within; one was positioned to the side as a cross sectional diagram, the other facing straight on, the small model of a baby in the third trimester curled up within the artificial uterus. Your attention snapped back to Kai as he took a step forwards to address the group. âLook under your chairs, Iâve handed each of you a unique list of targets, all ready to pop.â Your stomach twisted in horrified disbelief as the men all shifted in unison, pleasure curling the corners of their lips upwards as they read the names of the people they were soon to mercilessly slaughter. You watched with teary eyes as an impressively built, stocky man who you didnât know the name of slowly lifted his hand to the ceiling, Kaiâs eyes immediately flicking to him in agitation. âYou raise your hand one more fucking time and I will cut it off.â The powerfully built man visibly shrunk down into his chair at Kaiâs hissed statement of reproval but timidly uttered his question of âhow do we know theyâre all pregnant?â Kaiâs eyes flashed in impatient annoyance as he tore his eyes off the man, flicking them briefly up to the ceiling before deigning to answer. âBecause Gutterball pulled the rosters of four ob-gyns, two Lamaze classes and a Momtra Yoga over on Main. Great job, Gutterball.â The blond man who went by Gutterball, sat on the front row of chairs close to Kai, beamed in self-gratified delight at Kaiâs gracious recognition, lifting a fist into the air in triumph. Kai smiled proudly down at him before turning to address the group as a whole once more. Your eyes flicked down to the bright screen of your phone, the numbers displayed there beckoning. Your thumb twitched, a conflicted frown creasing your forehead as Kai continued on, pulling your attention back to him. âMansonâs family - I admire them, but they did get a little sloppy.â You watched on in nauseating alarm as Kai pulled a large blade from the black sheath at his hip with a flourish, the metal glinting in the light of the room. âTheir message got lost in their mess. What we are doing requires more precision. It is imperative that both mother and child are impaled. Donât fuck this up.â He scanned the gathering before him, gaze as sharp as the knife clutched in his grip before turning to the models behind him. âAim for the belly button but stab in a downward motion. If you stab straight,â in one fluid motion, he had buried the curved tip of the blade in the portion of the fake uterus just above the babyâs head with a solid thunk, âyou miss the baby - and our entire message is lost.â Withdrawing the knife, he turned back to address his cult, the weapon hanging loosely from his fingertips by his thigh. âTomorrow night, when your blades tear open one hundred pregnant bellies, you will be releasing a power into the universe. Detonating a neutron bomb of truth, blood and amniotic fluid. You will be galvanising an army.â âWith their sisters gutted, women everywhere will be forced to react. They canât ignore an injustice this brutal. Theyâll have to rise up, and in their collective rage, they will train it on Senator Jackson, on all incumbents, on any of the people in power who failed to keep us safe. As the most vulnerable are slaughtered, as the pregnant bodies pile up on Senator Jack-offâs watch, we will be surfing an electoral bloodbath straight to Capitol Hill. And then⊠the White House.â The collection of cult members all voiced their assent in a chorus of whoops and ovated cheers, a nauseating sense of unease dragging itâs claws up the length of your spine. You turned away with hot tears blurring your vision, not wanting to hear more, your phone a heavy weight in your hand and the decision it presented even heavier.
Sat on the edge of Kaiâs large bed, your knee couldnât cease itâs anxious bouncing, your lower lip chewed raw by your teeth. The door swung open suddenly, sending your heart leaping into your throat. Kai stepped into the room, the small smile stretching across his lips broadening as he beheld you perched on the mattressâ edge. âHey, when did you get here?â He questioned, reaching to tug you to your feet and wrap his arms tightly around you in a warm embrace. âI only got here like five minutes ago.â Your lie was muffled into the thin shirt at his shoulder, his hands splayed flat on your upper back as he held you close to him. Withdrawing yourself from his grasp, you frantically scanned his face, heart sinking at the pleasure dimly glowing in the depths of his dark eyes, pleasure fuelled not by your sudden appearance, but in anticipation of the merciless slaughter that he would be carrying out in mere hours time. âWhat?â He asked curiously, his head tilting slightly in concern as his smile faded, caught in the grave despondency of the stare you had him pinned under. His tape-wrapped hands settled on his shoulders; shaking him off, you stepped away, your chest bubbling with emotion that was dangerously close to spilling over. Dropping your gaze to the floor, you pressed the heels of your palms into your eyes, forcing the tears that threatened to flow to stay at bay. Groaning through clenched teeth, colourful sparks flashing through your blocked vision from the force with which you pressed your hands into your eyes, you blindly felt Kaiâs warmth as he stepped forwards to comfort you. Dropping your hands, you retreated another step, Kai stilling at the look of stangled confliction latching onto your features. âWhat happened?â Voice breaking, you brought a hand up to press against your forehead, icy panic unfurling in your gut amongst the turmoil of roiling distress flooding through your insides. Kai looked utterly lost, his eyes boring into yours as he searched for an answer to the question that he couldnât understand. âWhat the fuck happened to you, Kai?â His heart splintered at the raw anguish in your choked, lamenting tone, automatically taking a step towards you, wanting nothing more than to smother the emotions swarming your features. âI used to be so, so happy with you.â His lips parted in disbelief as you continued. âI wouldâve done anything for you.â You couldnât help the tears that spilled over, your voice pushing past the quivering of your lower lip and growing in strength, your breaths turning sharp and rasping as they were sucked in between your passionate words. âY/nâŠâ He didnât know what to say as he watched you struggle to keep a grasp on coherency. âI donât know what happened to him. To the Kai that I fell in love with. But heâs gone now. Heâs gone and I donât know how to get him back.â Sorrow gave way to desolate fury as you plowed on, your jaw clenching as you stepped towards him to deliver a harsh shove to his hard shoulders. Kai fell utterly silent, stumbling back slightly under your touch, unnerved and unsure by the eruption of messily confessed words that spilled from you, seemingly out of nowhere. âAnswer me.â You demanded gruffly, shoving at his solid frame once more. âI⊠y/n, I donât know-â With a third shove, his eyes flashed in agitated warning, silently daring you to repeat the action a fourth time. You did, shoving at him with as much force as you could muster, breathing hard when he took ahold of your wrists, pulling you to him and pouring his branding stare onto you. âStop.â Your face was flushed, plump tears cutting through your face and dripping from your chin as you plowed on. âWhat happened, Kai?â His nostrils flared, eyes wide in confusion as he battled to grasp onto your thoughts, to make coherence of the biting words falling from your lips. âWhat happened? What the hell happened. Why do you make it so hard to love you?â Your ragged breaths filled the sudden silence in the room, the roaring silence infiltrating Kaiâs head drowning out all other sense as he stared down at you in cold disbelief, your eyes wild and face screwed with festering ardour, raw and demanding, your lashes damp with bitter tears. A symphony of surprised shouts echoed up the stairs from the ground floor of the house, Kaiâs attention snapping to the door at his back and eyes flooding with sharp panic. He released his hold on you as the cries from below grew in volume, laced with alarm. A single gun shot rang out and it was your turn to take ahold of Kai, the tape wrapped tightly around his wrists warm under your fingers. His head whirled back to you, his eyes alight with uneasy confusion, his gaze frosting over. Bringing your face closer to his, you laid a single, lingering kiss to his lips, your own wet against him. âIâm sorry.â You said quietly, several heavy sets of footsteps sounding from behind the door as they thundered up the stairs. Kaiâs eyes frantically searched yours as he pulled against your unrelenting grasp, his gaze briefly parting from yours to snap to the door as the sequence of footsteps and shouts grew louder. âBut I canât let you do this.â His throat bobbed, his eyes widening in terror as the reality of the situation settled over him. âI sentence you to rot.â Tugging at his wrists, you forced your face closer to his before muttering to him, your breath hot on his face and the recognition of your betrayal manifesting in the cold fire smoldering in his gaze: âJust like how my love for you has turned to rot.â His face contorted in rage as the bedroom door was forced open, the panel of wood swinging open and hitting the adjacent wall with a bang, several armed policemen flooding into the room. You loosened your grip on his wrists, stepping away as two of the men took ahold of Kai by the back of his shirt, twisting his arms behind his back. He shrieked in rage, straining to turn his head towards his assailants as they began to pull him from the room. Sinking down onto the edge of the bed, you locked eyes with Kaiâs as he turned back to you, cool rage simmering in his dark gaze, his lip curled into an enraged snarl. He pinned you with his stare, not even bothering to fight against the men holding him as he was pulled from the room, a savage promise glittering in his unrelenting stare. A promise of vengeance. Of suffering.Â

I feel like I should be posting more original content. Iâve been here for so long, posting original content analyzing every detail of this show, and posting literally millions of words on the subject, and the show has gone and done exactly the thing Iâve been writing about, confirmed in text that the story Iâve been watching in the subtext is really the story they were telling all along.
And I could be posting gleefully about the beauty of the most intense metanarrative, the absolute bananapants layers of meta in any piece of media Iâve ever consumed in my 46 years. From the self-referential and universe-bending plotlines to just how deeply embedded ALL of this has become as the central core narrative of the final season, as the characters grapple with what is even real when theyâve been characters in a story beyond their control or understanding for so long only to come so close to earning their freedom and âbecoming realâ by using their OWN words and declaring for themselves their truth and their happiness and their love.
Itâs... mind boggling that everything Iâve ever written about this show is coming back around in a final grand swoop of the narrative arcs that I honestly donât know what else I can do aside from waving one hand at canon and inviting everyone to just read the entirety of this stupid blog while looking smugly satisfied with myself.
Itâs about love. The whole story is, was, and always will be about love. And not just destiel, but the whole damn show. The character of Dean Winchester, for all the jokes about being emotionally constipated, is essentially the embodiment of selfless love and has been since the start of the show. But because of the story itself, he had to become hardened to it, to accept that it wasnât something he could have for himself if he lived the life he did. And yet he never let that destroy him, despite now understanding that thatâs exactly what Chuck spent the last 15 years (and really the entirety of Deanâs life) attempting to do-- to break him for the sake of the story.
Casâs confession in 15.18 wasnât just about how Cas loves Dean, but why. Cas, the only version of Castiel in any of Chuckâs infinite universes who broke free of Heavenâs command, did so because of the love he saw in this selfless but self-hating man. Years of crack posts about Dean breaking angels cannot even begin to touch how deep this goes.
One line in Casâs monologue about Dean thinking of himself as âdaddyâs blunt instrumentâ was a line from season THREE, before Cas ever even MET Dean Winchester and began to know him. It was a phrase that had never been spoken aloud in reality. It happened literally inside Deanâs dream, where he knew he was doomed to go to hell and was confronted by the demon version of himself. Dean said this line TO HIMSELF, IN A DREAM, TWELVE SEASONS AGO. And then yelled down that demon-dream version of himself with this:
DREAM DEAN: Dad knew who you really were. A good soldier and nothing else. Daddy's blunt little instrument. Your own father didn't care whether you lived or died. Why should you?
DEAN:Â Son of a bitch!
DEAN pushes DREAM DEAN hard, knocking him into the wall above the desk.
DEAN:Â (screaming angrily)Â My father was an obsessed bastard!
DREAM DEAN tries to get up and DEAN kicks him down on the desk again. DEAN holds the weapon as a bat and hits DREAM DEAN once and then pins him to the wall with it.
DEAN:Â All that crap he dumped on me, about protecting Sam! That was his crap. He's the one who couldn't protect his family. He-
DEAN steps back and swings the weapon again, hitting DREAM DEAN twice.
DEAN: He's the one who let Mom die. who wasn't there for Sam. I always was! He wasn't fair! I didn't deserve what he put on me. And I don't deserve to go to Hell!
DEAN shoots DREAM DEAN twice in the chest. As he lowers the weapon and looking at DREAM DEAN, we see the latter is dead. Blood is splattered on DREAM DEAN's face and his eyes are closed.
--
And then after that, spoiler alert, he went to hell and Cas pulled him out.
Dean: Right. And why would an angel rescue me from Hell? Castiel: Good things do happen, Dean. Dean: Not in my experience. Castiel: What's the matter? You don't think you deserve to be saved?
It took him YEARS to truly get past this. He didnât really get to confront his own father until season 14, in a sort of âItâs A Wonderful Lifeâ sort of episode where he could see what his life mightâve been like if things had turned out differently. And oh, Cas isnât in his life. But he gets to confront John with his own self-acceptance, his own confidence in the life heâs made for himself and the people (including Cas) who have become his family. He gets to hear from John that he never wanted that life for Dean, and Dean gets to say, well I would choose this life anyway.
Until Chuckâs revelation pulled that rug out from under him. Dean had been-- if not deliriously happy, at least content with his life. Because it was HIS. And then he found out it wasnât, that Chuck had always been writing the broad strokes of his life, had always been the one throwing catastrophe after apocalypse after cosmic crisis directly in his path because he wanted to watch Dean struggle to save the world yet again, and finally give him the ending to the story that Chuck wanted-- a broken and devastated Dean whoâd sacrificed everything for the story yet again. And suddenly NOTHING about anything made sense to Dean anymore, and even Cas showing up in his life and then weirdly sticking around all these years was suspect to him. He trusted nothing, not his choices or his feelings or his own happiness.
But now? We know (and Dean knows) that Cas was one thing Chuck just couldnât control. That he was never supposed to think for himself and rebel and fall in love with Dean. And Dean knows that too. He knows all of it. And ALL of that just went wooshing through Deanâs central processing unit in the span of two minutes and came up error messages, because it was too late now and Cas was gone again, and there might not be any getting him back this time.
So unless Dabb era has been entirely about destroying everything that was ever good about this show, and about their own storytelling, and the metanarrative and the subtext and the character arcs, making Dean and Casâs relationship the main emotional arc of the entire season demands that Dean get a chance to answer to this.
If love is truly the ultimate weapon of their salvation, as the show has been screaming since s11, then Dean gets to keep Cas. Because anything less is failure at this point.
Iâm sorry I havenât been replying to many people in my inbox, but honestly Iâm too tired to deal with anxiety over how the story will end. I only care about the story, and Iâve written more about it in the last howeverlong Iâve been at this than I can possibly reiterate before the next episode airs. All I can do is point and gawp at the fact that the story is what I have always thought it was, and be content.
Revenge of the Subtext, indeed.
#spn 15.18#destiel#the scheherazade of supernatural#revenge of the subtext#it's spirals all the way down#order vs chaos and darkness vs light#using your words#grand unification via love theory#there's probably 3000 posts across those tags and more in other tags linked to those if you wanna know how i feel about this show#i feel like i've written everything bar the shouting at the end at this point#lol including Revenge of the Subtext aka my first dcbb fic back in 2015 so like... *eternal shrug emojis*#i don't know what else to say at this point other than you either read anything i've written in the last 8 years or so or like...#nothing i say now is really gonna help i guess#lol i even wrote about how chuck was controlling the story way back in s11 so like...#i think i was one of the few holdouts in s11 who was convinced that amara didn't need to be killed but reunited with chuck#from like two days after 10.23 aired and before we knew she was amara or that chuck would ever come back#or that he was god lol... i was calling them darkness and light or creation and destruction#i wrote a lot of wackadoo sounding shit because we had no context to define them yet but ALL of it held up all season#and then dabb era ushered in the age of the metanarrative where the story unfolded on at least six levels simultaneously#and i get that's not every casual fan's cup of tea but for someone invested in the characters it ws GLORIOUS#they laid this whole trail of subtext and meta breadcrumbs all the way up to this point circling around a huge pole holding up the entire#story... and the center of it all is LOVE and it's an angel's love of a single human that the show has been pointing at forever#you draped yourself in the flag of heaven but really you did it all to save one human... hello season 9!#and a broken human's love of an angel he feared he could never deserve... and that's the love that can defeat every cosmic power out there#that's what we have left to watch in the final two episodes and i honestly don't know what else to say#love wins

sisterâs approval ~ machine gun kelly
word count: 1415
request?: yes!
âMachine gun Kelly x female reader. The reader is Kells younger sister whoâs a singer and whoâs really close to kells. When kells and Megan start dating people start saying how Megan is trying to push her out of kells life, trying to make kells forget about his sister even though Megan and kells sister immediately became best friends when kells introduced them. She finally has enough of people saying stuff about Megan and she posts on social media saying that sheâs tired of people saying stuff that isnât true and that her and Megan are best friends and she doesnât hate Megan and that sheâs really happy that her brother found someone as amazing as Megan. Please and thank youâ
description: in which the tabloids are trying to paint her brotherâs girlfriend as a bad person, so she decides to set the record straight

She ran right past her brother and immediately tackled his girlfriend instead. Megan chuckled and hugged (Y/N) back as Colson watched with amusement.
âGood to see you too, sis,â he said.
âYeah, yeah, youâre cool I guess,â (Y/N) said, waving Colsonâs comment away. âWe both know Iâm here for Megan.â
âWeird, I thought you were here to record a song with me.â
âThatâs like the side quest, the main mission is Megan.â
Colson rolled his eyes. (Y/N) made her way to his home studio, basically making herself at home in his house.
Despite both of them being in the music business for over 10 years, neither of the Baker siblings had ever done a song together. With the production of his next album, Colson insisted that (Y/N) made a feature on the album. She said yes on the condition that they both kept it an absolute secret until it was released to which Colson agreed.
(Y/N) threw herself down onto the couch in Colsonâs home studio and pulled her songwriting notebook from her bag. âI have a few different verses written just because when I started writing I couldnât stop. You choose one that sounds best with the rest of the song.â
âIâm sure all of them would work.
âYeah but we canât do a six verse song, thatâs just too long. Pick one and Iâll use the others for a different song.â
Colson took the notebook and read through the verses. (Y/N) took her phone to look through social media while he read them. Megan was sat next to her, sending each other 8 Ball games back and forth between social media sessions.
After scrolling through Instagram for a while, (Y/N) switched to Twitter to find her own name trending. Confused, she clicked it to find an article at the top of the trend. The title read:Â âMGK blows off sister again! The rapper stands up (Y/N) for Megan Fox yet againâ, accompanied by a picture of (Y/N) sat alone outside of a restaurant.
She didnât have to read the rest of the article to know it was bullshit. The picture was of (Y/N) waiting on a friend outside the restaurant, not Colson, and the headline was so false that (Y/N)âs hands started to shake.
â(Y/N)? You good?â
Colsonâs voice brought (Y/N) out of her enraged trance. She looked up to see him and Megan looking at her, expectantly.
âYeah, Iâm good,â she responded. However, another brief glance at her phone brought her anger back. âActually, no, Iâm not. Iâll be right back.â
She got up and walked out of the studio. She went to the living room, far enough away that she knew they wouldnât be able to hear her as she filmed her video.
The press had been trying to pin (Y/B) and Megan against one another since she and Colson started dating. (Y/N) and Colson had always been close, but once Colson started dating Megan, the paparazzi started taking pictures of just the two of them or just (Y/N), totally ignoring the fact that (Y/N) was constantly posting pictures and tweets about Megan, and that all three of them spent time together often.
(Y/N) had had enough of the lies and the clickbait just to make Megan and Colson look like bad people. She was about to set the record straight, whether people wanted to hear it and believe it or not.
She switched her phone to Instagram again and went to her story. She held her phone up so that she was framed perfectly in the shot and held down on the button to begin recording.
âHey everyone! I just wanted to address something really quick,â she started. She held the phone out so that the camera would pick up the background. âYou see this behind me? This living room Iâm in? This is Colsonâs living room, because I am in Colsonâs house. I am here spending time with him and with Megan, as I do almost every day. I am bringing this up because I just saw yet another article trying to make it out as if Colson has stopped spending time with me due to Megan. These articles are nothing but clickbait and lies to try and grab readerâs attention, especially the attention of my fans.
âColson and I have not had any sort of falling out. There are no ill wishes from me towards Megan, and vice versa. In fact, Megan is my best friend. I like her more than I like Colson. And no, Colson has not stood me up or dumped me for Megan. Does he like to have his alone time with her? Of course! All couples do! But we still spend time together and we still talk to one another. Thereâs no bad blood between any of us. To the tabloids that have been spewing this bullshit for nearly a year now, Iâd like for you all to kindly and politely shut the fuck up and move on. If I keep seeing this slander about my family, I will not hesitate to take legal action. To any of my fans who actually believe this and are sending hateful messages to Colson and Megan, I also beg you to stop. They are my family, and by hurting them you are hurting me. Whether you choose to believe this video or not is totally up to you, but this is the truth. All three of us, weâre a family. So fuck off of my family.â
(Y/N)âs hands were still shaking as she pressed âpostâ. She watched the videos load one by one before they were all posted to her story. The moment they went up, the views came flooding in, as did the positive messages. Many of her fans sent her private messages in response to the story, telling her they were sorry that she and Colson had to deal with that and assuring her that the real fans knew there was no ill intentions between the three of them.
Satisfied that she had finally gotten that off her chest, (Y/N) went to Colsonâs kitchen and poured herself a glass of water before going back to the home studio. As she walked through the door, both Colson and Meganâs heads turned to look at her.
âDid you guys want water, too?â she asked, trying to lighten the mood.
âYou couldâve told us you were going to film that video,â Colson said. âWe couldâve addressed the rumors, too.â
(Y/N) sighed and took her spot on the couch again. âI know that, but I felt like it had to be me addressing it. I was the one being made out to be a victim. If you guys said anything before I did, everyone would just think youâre trying to cover your own asses. You can make statements if you want, but I felt like I had to be the first one to speak up about this.â
âSheâs right,â Megan agreed. âIf we came out about it first it would just be fuel to the tabloidâs fire. Although, I donât think we should have to make any sort of statement about it. The fact that anyone believes that shit makes no sense to me.â
âPeople like to demonize celebrities they donât like,â (Y/N) responded. âWhether itâs true or not. Chances are that video will be taken out of context to fit their agenda, but whatever. I said my piece, Iâm moving on.â She nodded to her notebook in Colsonâs hand. âDid you choose a verse?â
Colson looked down at the notebook before passing it back to (Y/N). âTheyâre all really good, so I thought maybe, instead of one single, we do an entire album together.â
(Y/N)âs eyes widened. âAre you serious? Like you actually wanna do that?â
Colson nodded. âYeah! I think itâll be a fun surprise to both of our fanbases, and itâll definitely make up for the last ten years where we havenât worked together.â
(Y/N) was basically bouncing with excitement. âOh my God, this album is gonna be so fucking awesome! We should give it a really cheesy name, like Bakerâs Dozen.â
âNo,â Colson said.
âYes!â Megan retorted.
âTwo against one, itâs being called Bakerâs Dozen,â (Y/N) decided. She and Megan high fived while Colson buried his head in his hands and let out a groan.

devour (m)

pairing: human!baekhyun x vampire!reader (f) genre: smut, paranormal warnings: mentions of blood, pain, monsters etc, explicit sex involving some slight dom/sub themes but not really. a lot of position switching, oral (m receiving), cursing word count: 6.6k summary: youâre thirsty. so damn thirsty. and baekhyun is the only one that can give you what you want. itâs the last time, really the last time, you tell yourself. a/n: hello my lovely amazing readers! thank you so much for being so patient with me these last several months, i know i havenât been very consistent with my posting BUT i promise iâm trying. i started this piece about 3 weeks ago and my only goal was to finish it by the end of the month. thankfully i just barely finished in time! i hope you enjoy but first, a disclaimer: i havenât read or watched anything about vampires in many years so i know there may be things that donât technically make sense. vampire enthusiasts pls do not come for me, i did my best. thanks to: all my followers, @jjinyounf for discussing vampire reproductive systems, & @flowerbeomâ and @jjpmoansâ for hyping me up and giving me love and encouragement whenever i need it, which is a lot!
Last time, you told yourself it was the last time.Â
The last time you let Baekhyun into your apartment at half past three in the morning, so out of your mind starving that you could hardly even see straight. The last time you let him take you, command your body like it was no longer your own.
You should have known you were lying to yourself.Â
You [3:28am]: are you up?
Baek [3:29am]: yea, why?
You [3:31am]: can you come over?Â
After your last message, you got no response. Perhaps, you thought, heâd fallen asleep or worse, had no interest in being your blood bag for the night. You would be disappointed, but you wouldnât blame him.Â
You rolled over in bed, flopping onto your stomach as you buried your face into your pillow. Maybe you could simply push through and wait until morning, when Kyungsoo would be awake and able to help you.Â
After you turned a few months ago, totally unexpectedly, it had flipped your world upside down. Kyungsoo found you, shivering and delirious by a dumpster where your fun little one night stand had left you.Â
Kyungsoo was human, but he was the type of person that people trusted and allowed into their worlds, no matter who they were. As one of the general surgeons of the local hospital, heâd gotten himself into a position of substantial power over both the humans and the vampires of your city. He never used it as a weaponâonly as leverage to keep the humans safe.
When he found you, heâd wrapped you in his jacket and carried you to his apartment, but you didnât remember anything until many days later. Kyungsoo nursed you to health, providing you with a vampire crash course to prepare you for the rest of your life. Of eternity.Â
Then heâd introduced you to some of his friends at a party after you were more comfortable, although you had yet to feed on a living human. There was a whole community of humans that got off on it, that lived for the pain and pleasure of letting a vampire feed on them.Â
It was at this party that you met Baekhyun. He had a mischievous glint in his eye when Kyungsoo told him your name and left the two of you alone in the dimly lit, smoky club basement. Something about that look in Baekhyunâs eyes told you he knew youâd be his by the end of the night.Â
The feeling, the taste, the pure ecstasy of finally consuming fresh blood was unlike anything youâd ever experienced before, even when you were alive. Your senses were heightened as a vampire as it was, but as soon as his blood hit your tongue, it was like your world exploded into a million colors.Â
But even though youâd been the monster drinking his blood, Baekhyun remained in control. He laid you out on his bed and pinned your wrists to the mattress with one hand, his other wrist pressed into your mouth as he forced you to feed.Â
You whimpered and cried out when it was too much, when the overstimulation of his blood and the way he was rocking into you at a brutally rhythmic pace had you seeing stars. He never relented; only fucked you harder as you writhed under him.Â
After that night, you never wanted anyone else. Baekhyun was the only man you wanted to feed from. With him, you didnât feel like a monster. You didnât feel like a thing, like a horror story to tell in the dark.Â
He made you feel human again.Â
Tonight, the thirst was too much to handle. It was clouding your mind and keeping you awake as you twisted and turned under the covers. You couldnât tell if you were craving his blood or craving him, but you were too weak to care.Â
You hated the thirst. It was like dehydration, tenfold. Your head hurt, your lips were dry no matter how many times you wet them, and all you could think about was warm blood sliding down your throat. It was maddening.Â
The telltale sound of your apartmentâs buzzer had you sitting up in bed, so quickly that it made your head spin, the noise signaling that you had a visitor down at the main entrance to your building.Â
You scurried off the bed and hurried to the door, nearly running into it as you slid on the hardwood in your socks to let him in. You told yourself the eagerness to see him was only because you were thirsty, certainly nothing more.
As soon as you opened the door, you felt embarrassingly underdressed.Â
Baekhyun had dyed his hair since youâd last seen him. It was now a silver blonde, perfectly messy and framing his stupidly beautiful features. Heâd been out tonight, you realized. The glitter on his cheekbones gave it away.Â
His hands were stuffed comfortably in the pockets of his leather jacket with a faded graphic tee underneath, and expertly tailored black jeans practically painted onto his lower half.Â
You tugged the hem of your T-shirt down, even though heâd already had you in positions that you hadnât even thought were physically possibleâvampire or not. For some reason, you still felt bare in front of him in your pajama shorts and oversized tee.
âHmm,â Baekhyun hummed as he stepped inside, letting the heavy door close behind him. He smelled like smoke and rum. âLook at you. Is someone thirsty?â
You blinked, grateful that you were incapable of blushing. As ravenous and desperate for blood as you were, the way he looked you up and down made you feel small and shy.Â
âCan I?â you asked, reaching for his wrist, half tucked into the pocket of his jacket.Â
âUh-uh.â He stepped back just before your fingers brushed his skin. âYou know thatâs not how it works, baby. You still need to work for it.âÂ
If you wanted to, you could muster your strength and slam him into the door, dive for his neck and bleed him dry before he even realized what was happening. But you didnât. You wanted this, you wanted to beg and plead until finally, he rewarded you.Â
âBaekhyun,â you whispered, then dragged your tongue over the dry, cracking skin of your lips. âIâm so thirsty. Iâll do whatever you want.âÂ
He seemed pleased by this, judging by the way his lips turned into a familiar smirk. âI know you will. Come on, letâs go sit down.âÂ
You followed him to the living room obediently, watching as he made himself comfortable on the couch. He shrugged his jacket off, revealing the expanse of his forearms down to his wrists, covered in bite marks in various stages of healing.Â
All from you.Â
If he had chosen to get his fix somewhere else, you wouldnât have any reason to be envious or hurt. But it filled you with a sense of pride that he didnât, that you were the only one he allowed to taste him.Â
You moved to sit next to him, but Baekhyun stopped you. He took your hand, leading you to stand in between his parted legs.Â
âKnees.âÂ
It took one word for you to drop to the carpet, your bare knees pressing into the old scratchy shag rug youâd had for ages. He kept your fingers in his palm, rubbing his thumb idly over the back of your hand.Â
âGood girl.â With his other hand, he tucked your hair behind your ear, his wrist brushing against your cheek so that you could hear the pulse beneath his skin.Â
âBaekâŠâ you began, turning slightly until your nose brushed his skin. âJust a taste. Please.â
Baekhyun lifted your chin with his finger and locked eyes with you. You filled with warmth already, just one look enough to send your mind racing with images of everything you wanted from him. His blood was further down the list than you would have thought.
âJust a taste,â he repeated.Â
With that, he let go of your hand and turned slightly to reach into the pocket of his discarded jacket. When he pulled out the shiny folded metal, you gulped hungrily.Â
The pocketknife brandished with a metallic click.Â
It wasnât uncommon for humans to carry weapons these days. After all, vampires werenât the only monsters that roamed the streets after dusk, and not all vampires were quite as friendly with humans as you were.Â
Your eyes followed Baekhyunâs nimble fingers as he brought the very end of his knife to his middle finger, twisting the point into his fingertip until a spot of blood appeared.Â
It took every bit of self control that you possessed not to reach out in desperation for his hand and bring it to your mouth. But you knew betterâyou knew if you broke, Baekhyun would stand up and walk out the door like you were less than nothing to him.Â
He watched you with interest as he held his finger just out of your reach, eyes dancing with that mischievous stare he had when he teased you. You would despise it if you didnât know that eventually, he always caved.Â
Finally, when your mouth had gone dry and you could feel the warm tingle that meant your fangs were about to protrude, Baekhyun brought his index and middle fingers to your mouth.Â
He slipped them past the parched skin of your lips, your entire world blooming as soon as his middle finger touched the center of your tongue. You moaned, eyes falling shut.Â
âLook how needy you are,â he remarked after a beat. His voice was strained, though, as if watching your display of bliss was causing him physical pain.Â
He let you go for a while, maybe half a minute, before he was removing his fingers from your mouth. You couldnât help but whine, resisting every urge not to grab at his wrist to keep him there.Â
With the small amount of his blood youâd been able to milk from his finger, you already felt renewed. A surge of energy coursed through you like youâd just been injected with adrenaline.Â
âWhat do you say?â Baekhyun asked with a cocked brow.Â
You swallowed, licking any remnants of his blood from your lips. âThank you.âÂ
Without a second thought, you reached for Baekhyunâs belt, fingers quickly undoing the metal buckle. Your ears picked up the quickening of his heartbeat from the moment you undid the button of his pants.Â
It was no surprise that most vampire-human relationships, if not ending in death, ended in sex. Feeding, in your experience, was extremely sensual and instantly created feelings of arousal within both parties. It was almost better than sex, and when the two came together? It was euphoric.Â
You were pleased to find him half-hard already by the time you got his zipper down, your hand wrapping around the length of him under the fabric of his briefs. Baekhyun inhaled sharply, holding his breath until you had pulled his cock from his underwear.Â
Only a few seconds passed before you leaned forward, parting your lips to run your tongue along the underside of his member. Your eyes remained open, locked on Baekhyunâs face to gauge his reaction.Â
He loved it, of course.Â
With a groan, he tipped his head back, exposing his throat and sending a shockwave to your core. You wanted his throat, his neck, all of that fresh, warm blood pumping beneath his skin. But you wanted to taste it while he was inside of you. It would be worth the wait.Â
Your eyes fell shut as you took his length into your mouth, deeper and deeper with each stroke until he hit the back of your throat. Unlike men youâd been with when you were human, Baekhyun made no effort to remain quiet. He was loud, and you loved it.Â
If you had your way, all of your days would be filled with Baekhyunâs voice. His moans, his rough whispers in your ear, his laugh, his hums as he completed mundane tasks like wiping down the counters or tying his shoes. Deep down, you wanted it all.
âGood girl, thatâs my girl,â he whispered, reaching forward to lace his fingers in your hair. He curled his hand into a tight fist, a deliciously sharp pain spreading across your scalp.Â
You whimpered, lips wrapped tight and wet around him. He guided you back and forth for a while with his hand in your hair, muttering soft praises all the while. By the way his hips were twitching towards your face, you knew he was getting lost in the ministrations of your mouth.Â
Baekhyun soon dropped his hand from your hair, signaling you to pull away, just in time for him to stand up and pull you to your feet.Â
A squeak of surprise fell from your lips as he lifted you, hooking your legs around his waist in a simple, swift movement.
âBed,â he said simply.Â
Baekhyun carried you through your apartment as if it was his own, lips kissing and nipping at your neck as he dodged every obstacle between the two of you and the bedroom. He stopped once, in the hallway, to lean you into wall and roll his hips into your center.Â
His name came out as a sigh.Â
Then, finally, he dropped you onto the center of your bed. It was messy from your previous tossing around in the sheets from your thirst, but neither of you cared. Baekhyun reached for the comforter, knotted and piled together under your lower back, and easily tossed it off the bed to leave nothing but the sheets under you.Â
He stood at the foot of the bed, chest heaving up and down, and ran his fingers through his hair. The look in his eyes had you squirming, ready for him to devour you in every way possible.Â
âAre you still thirsty, baby?âÂ
Your heart clenched at the pet name, even though he always called you that, loving the way it sounded on his lips. You gulped, nodding as you batted your eyelashes.Â
âYes,â you admitted.Â
âTake off your clothes,â he told you, hands reaching for his jeans, still unbuttoned, to push them down his legs.Â
It took less than a second for you to obey, clutching the waistband of your shorts and shoving them off of you. You knew he liked when you kept your underwear on, just so he could use it to further torture you by keeping a layer between you.Â
You slipped your thin T-shirt off, throwing it to the side and laying back into the mattress again. Baekhyun had removed his own shirt, leaving just his briefs from letting you see all of him.Â
You could marvel at his body for hoursâhe was slender, but solid. He wasnât much taller than you, but his shoulders were broad enough to make you feel protected in those rare moments when he held you in his arms.Â
This time, though, you noticed something new. There was a handful of bruises and scratches marring his body, completely different from the puncture marks that your fangs left when you fed on him. Blinking, you furrowed your eyebrows, fingers reaching out.Â
âWhat are-â
âNo questions,â Baekhyun cut you off, reaching for your hands before they could reach their destination. His face softened, ever so slightly, when you quickly retreated, curling your hands up near your own chest. âWeâre not here to talk, are we, baby?â
Just like that, he made you forget the suspicious marks on his chest, even one slash that looked particularly painful. Almost like heâd been cut by a knife. Â
Watching the way he licked his lips as his eyes traveled down your body, slowly, so slowly, you were easily steered back to the task at hand. You dropped your hands to the sheets, digging your nails into the fabric as he overwhelmed each of your senses.Â
Even from here, you could smell his blood. From here, you could hear the steady, strong beat of his heart, taste the alcohol and nicotine of his kiss. Your body was calling out to him and you werenât sure how much longer you could deny what it needed.Â
âBaekhyun,â you found yourself whining, hips squirming under his hungry gaze.Â
His eyes snapped up to your face then, so much desire and pure lust in his stare that you felt a brand new surge of heat travel through your limbs.Â
âMm, firstâŠâ he pressed one knee down into the mattress, then the other, until he was hovering over you. âWe have to see if youâre ready for me, donât we?âÂ
Baekhyun led a painfully light touch down the middle of your chest with his index and middle fingers, between your bare breasts, and down the valley of your stomach at a pace that had you biting your tongue just to keep from begging him for the nth time. It would only further encourage him to play with you, of which you could only tolerate so much.Â
You knew his moves by now, knew that he would trail those fingers down to your waist, over the elastic of your panties until he found the evidence of your arousal between your legs. You knew his moves, and he still had you whimpering the moment his fingers brushed your clit through your panties.Â
Your toes curled into the sheets as you tried desperately not to show how crazy he was making you. He knew already, though, the moment he slid his fingers beneath the waistband of your panties and found wetness between your legs.Â
âOh,â Baekhyun said with a smirk, tongue running cheekily along his lower lip. âYouâre dripping, Y/N. Youâre this wet just from sucking me off?â
Again, you were grateful for your inability to blush.Â
âAnswer me,â he demanded suddenly, eyes turning dark just the way you liked them.Â
âYes!â you replied, hips canting up towards Baekhyunâs hand. âYes, Iâm this wet just from sucking you off.âÂ
Even after you closed your eyes, you were sure you could see the cocky smirk that was undoubtedly painted upon his lips. He lived for this, the feeling of absolutely owning you. You, an immortal, bloodthirsty, powerful woman despite how weak he made you.Â
As his fingers delved lower, just until he could dip them into your entrance, you mewled and turned your cheek towards the pillow. âPlease,â you breathed.Â
Baekhyunâs lips brushed your neck. âPlease, what?âÂ
âWant you⊠want-â you sighed as his fingers pushed deeper, to his second knuckle. âWant you inside.â
Youâd be lying if you said it didnât surprise you when he finally gave in, but you couldnât complain. Though he didnât concede without a few deep pumps of his fingers, enough to have you gasping and close to ripping the sheets apart beneath you.Â
Baekhyun slipped his fingers from you and stood from the bed, his hands pushing down his briefs without hesitation. He nodded at you once, motioning with his chin to the headboard behind you.Â
âOn your knees, and face the headboard.âÂ
Renewed with your need to feel Baekhyun inside of you, you easily flipped over onto all fours, that warm sensation in your gums warning you that your fangs would extend at any moment. You didnât fight it, hoping that it wouldnât be much longer until you would need them.Â
âFuck,â Baekhyun exhaled, just before you felt the bed shift with his weight as he moved behind you. âYouâre beautiful, but Iâd be lying if I said I didnât love seeing you like this.âÂ
Youâre beautiful.Â
The words echoed in your mind, though you knew they probably shouldnât. He rarely complimented you so boldly, especially before he was inside of you, overwhelmed with pleasure and pain. Curling your hands into fists, you shoved your feelings down because you needed to. A survival instinct, really.Â
Because if you fell for him, if you opened your heart, the odds were against you. You werenât sure why he chose you, why you were the only one he allowed to feed from him, but you couldnât let yourself see it as any more than a mutual transaction of pleasure.
Baekhyun snapped you out of your thoughts easily the moment he pressed up against you from behind, his hands molding down your sides until he could place them upon your hips.Â
You hung your head between your shoulders, reaching your hands out to grip the wooden slats of your headboard. The anticipation was always the best, and worst, part of this.Â
It almost scared you how well Baekhyun knew your body. He knew when he trailed his fingertips down between your shoulder blades that youâd shiver and bite your lip, using every ounce of willpower that you possessed not to beg him. Even though you were pretty sure thatâs what he wanted.Â
He knew when he leaned forward and kissed your shoulder, that youâd ultimately lose the battle with yourself and your dignity. You were hot, sweaty, and desperate. Desperate enough to give in and sob his name, squeezing your headboard so hard that you felt the wood splinter beneath your hands.Â
Without another word, his lips still pressed to your skin, you finally felt the tip of his cock tease your entrance. You held your breath, hoping beyond hope that he wouldnât drag it out any longer.Â
Your wish was granted as he filled you in one long stroke, both of you releasing satisfied moans at the sensation. This... this was bliss.Â
âHow are you-â Baekhyun ground out through his teeth and squeezed your hips hard enough youâd probably bruise, if you could, â-always this tight? God.âÂ
His lips trailed across from one shoulder blade to the other, giving your body a moment to adjust to the girth of him, before he began to move. Just like every other time, he pulled sighs and moans from you that only his ears had ever had the privilege of hearing.Â
âOh, my god,â you breathed, your walls clenching around him each time he filled you, his pace making your head spin.Â
âHowâs it feel, baby?â Baekhyun asked, voice low next to your ear.Â
It took a few more thrusts for you to be able to catch your breath to answer him, your head spinning from the way he was fucking you. It didnât matter how many times you had him, he always made you like this. Crazy, hungry, and weak.Â
âGood, so⊠so good.âÂ
âThatâs right,â Baekhyun answered, one hand drifting from your hip down between your legs to find your clit. âYouâre taking me so well. Think you might get to feed a little earlier than normal tonight, baby.âÂ
You clenched around him once more at his words. Recently, Baekhyun had started making you wait longer and longer to taste him. The last time, youâd been teetering right on the edge of your second orgasm when he finally bared his neck to you.
It wasnât the worst thing in the world--no, that moment when his blood hit your tongue had sent you towards the most electric, trembling climax youâd ever had. But you had to admit your mouth was watering already at the thought of sinking your teeth into his skin sooner rather than later.Â
âPlease,â you begged, pushing your ass back towards him. âPlease, Baekhyun.â
Baekhyun rolled his fingers around your clit in circular motions, grunting as he thrusted hard, jolting you forward. You gasped and moaned, throwing your head back in ecstasy.Â
âYou want that, huh? You want me to fuck you while you drink from me?â He matched each stroke of his cock inside of you with the pace of his fingers, drawing tight circles between your legs.Â
âYes,â you answered, voice cracking. You didnât just want it, you needed it. Your fangs were showing now, and you werenât even sure at what point theyâd finally protruded from your gums, a biological response to the thought that you would be needing them soon.Â
Your world spun, briefly, as Baekhyun grabbed your hips and flipped you from your knees onto your back. It was quick, a move heâd pulled on you so many times you barely even noticed until he was pushing back inside of you.Â
âOh, look at you,â he said from above you.Â
Now that you could see him, you could appreciate his rosy cheeks, the way his hair stuck to his temples, and the subtle way his shoulder muscles contracted each time he moved inside you. Holding himself up with one arm, he trailed his free hand down the side of your face and brushed his thumb over your lip.Â
âYouâre ready to feed, arenât you, baby? So fucking needy. You think you deserve it?â The pad of his thumb slipped inside of your mouth, daring to trace over the shape of one of your fangs.Â
All you could do was nod, the ability to actually speak coherent words completely lost on you at the moment.Â
You waited, as patiently as you could while he was driving you insane, for Baekhyun to make the first move. You never reached for his arm first, never lunged for his neck or his shoulder, simply because you wanted him to have that control.Â
Baekhyun leaned down, his lips trailing kisses from your chin up to your jaw, until he nipped at your earlobe. âGo ahead, pretty. Take what you want.âÂ
The next time he filled you completely with his cock, you finally sunk your teeth into Baekhyunâs neck, that same spot that you had claimed as your own already. You whimpered as his blood filled your mouth, sliding down your throat.Â
You reveled in the way he tasted and the sinful way he inhaled sharply at the initial bite before he let out a long, blissful moan. Your body was on fire now, so consumed in Baekhyun and the way he felt buried this deep inside of your heat. It was like you were invincible.Â
Wrapping your legs around his waist, you pulled him into you easily. It was different when you fed from him like this. You had to be careful, control yourself so that you didnât hurt him too badly, but it tasted so damn good.Â
Before you could get carried away, you forced yourself to pull back, licking any remnants of his blood from your lips. Even though you were no longer feeding, you felt the effects of his blood rushing through your body already.Â
It was electric and overwhelming in the best possible way, heightened even more so by the way Baekhyun fit inside of you and stretched you so perfectly. The entire room had brightened around you as if somebody had switched on a light.Â
When you were finally able to focus on the man above you, you were pleased to find that he looked just as fucked out as you felt. His arms shook, for a moment, maybe from the quick loss of blood or just the sheer pleasure of it all.
Taken by a moment of bravery, you used your legs hooked around his hips to roll your bodies over so that you could settle on top of him and let him rest for a moment. His wound would heal quicklyâsomething to do with the healing properties of your saliva, according to Kyungsooâbut you knew heâd need a beat to regain his strength.Â
The moment he filled you completely, you took in a shuddering breath and planted your hands on his chest. Baekhyun stared up at you, eyes filled with awe, lips parted as if he wanted to say something but just couldnât find the words.Â
âWanna ride you,â you whispered, licking your lips once again. âI want to make you - make you feel good,â you admitted.Â
Baekhyunâs hands found your thighs, pale and smooth, and dug his fingertips into your skin. Slowly, those fingertips trailed up to your hips to pull you closer, forcing you into a rocking motion atop of him.Â
âGo on, then,â he breathed. âMake me feel good.âÂ
It occurred to you then that youâd been in this position with him only once before, and it only lasted a couple of minutes before he flipped you onto your back and took over control. This time, though, you wanted to take it until the end. You wanted him to see just a shred of the power you could have over him.Â
Maybe you didnât realize it until now, but you knew Baekhyunâs body just as well as he knew yours.Â
You knew when you rolled your hips just right, heâd groan and his eyes would flutter closed as he fought not to thrust himself further inside of you. You knew his hands would start to roam, squeezing and groping at the smooth flesh of your hips and stomach.Â
Not until Baekhyun had you learned to appreciate a manâs hands on you without feeling self conscious or try to cover up. Maybe because Baekhyun owed you nothing, there was no reason for him to lie to you or tell you what you wanted to hear. With his hands and his lips, he painted his honest truth on your body without saying a word.Â
You started to lose yourself more and more with each roll, each circular grind of your hips on top of him, letting your needy moans fill the room along with his.
âJust like that,â Baekhyun praised, both hands holding firmly onto your waist. âTell me, who makes you feel this good?â
You pressed your hands more firmly into his stomach and opened your eyes, only a little surprised to find him staring up at you again as if he was trying to drink in every inch of your body.Â
Just when you were about to answer, Baekhyun bucked his hips up, pushing himself deeper inside of youâdeep enough to make you shiver and lose any and all words that could have gone through your mind.Â
âI-â you started, fighting the urge to close your eyes. With the way he was looking at you, you knew that Baekhyun wanted your eyes on him. âY-you,â you could only whisper.Â
âI said,â he said, through his teeth, surprising you as he sat up underneath of you so that your chests were flush together. âWho makes you feel like this?âÂ
âYou, you, you,â you cried, feeling the familiar heat building in your belly and spreading down towards your thighs. âBaekhyun, oh, fuckâŠâÂ
âMmm,â Baekhyun hummed, pleased, pulling you even closer to him. âSuch a good girl. You know exactly who you belong to, donât you? No one else can ever have you like this.âÂ
Even as far gone as you were, something about his words made you shiver, mind racing with all the ways he could mean those words. Youâd accepted that you wanted more from him, more than a late night fuck and feed, but what if he felt the same way?
âNo one.âÂ
Baekhyun pressed the words onto your lips. You clawed at his shoulders, not caring if you marked him, if you left scratches to match the mysterious half-healed slashes across his torso. You wanted him to belong to you, too, if only in one way.Â
The kiss sent you closer to your high as your thoughts got the best of you, imagining what your life might be like if you could belong to each other.Â
Maybe you could wake up next to him someday, help him with breakfast by frying the bacon while he mixed pancake batter. Or you could fall asleep curled up into his side, hand pressed to his chest, counting his heartbeats.Â
âClose,â you whispered. âIâm so close.âÂ
âMe too, baby. Me too.â Baekyun pulled back first from the kiss, one hand in your hair and the other helping you keep your pace, gripped possessively around your hip.
When you finally tumbled over the edge, you could only speak incoherent mumbles and whispers of pleasure into the crook of his neck as your body bowed forward into him.Â
Fireworks exploded behind your vision with your climax, a feeling you should have been used to by now, but you still found yourself practically blacking out every time. It was stronger, more powerful since you became a vampire. Like every cell of your body was exploding and putting itself back together again.Â
âI got you, pretty, Iâm here,â you heard Baekhyun whisper as he thrust into you from below, fucking you through the intense waves of your orgasm.Â
The feeling returned to your fingertips what felt like an hour later, even though it was probably only a minute or two, and you found yourself able to open your eyes. You blinked a few times to let your eyes refocus, taking in the sight of Baekhyun so close to you, so close to his peak.Â
âBaekhyun, I canât-â you gasped, willing your trembling thighs to move so you could resume your movements on top of him. It was no useâyou just didnât have the strength.Â
Baekhyun moved quickly, easily flipping your positions so that he was above you once more. He remained on his knees, grabbing one of your pillows to shove under your lower back. From this angle, he could wrap your legs around his waist and grind into you at the perfect angle.Â
âOh, fuck,â you moaned, hands scrambling to clutch the sheets underneath of you. All you could do was watch him, devour him with your eyes the same way you had devoured him with your mouth.Â
From the moment you met him, youâd thought he was beautiful. It always struck you as unfair that he appeared to be without flaws, as if you had dreamed him up. He just simply couldnât be real. And if he was real, it was a miracle he wanted anything to do with you.Â
âYouâre so fucking tight,â Baekhyun said through gritted teeth. He was losing control, moving closer and closer to the edge with each deep thrust.
Your fingers squeezed and tugged at the sheets beneath your hands, the only thing you had the physical strength left to do. âPlease,â you whined. âI wanna feel you come inside me.â
It didnât take much longer, only a few more perfect rolls of his hips before he came with a loud, shuddering groan. You felt him spill inside of you, liquid heat that felt like it was never ending. This was your favorite part. It was the closest you could ever feel to him, surrounded in every way.Â
Once he had come down, Baekhyun fell forward on top of you, catching himself on his forearms. He breathed deep and heavy, face buried between your neck and your shoulder. You found yourself stroking his back, tracing words into his skin that you couldnât say out loud.Â
When he finally rolled off of you, he didnât go far, just flopped onto his side next to you. Your breath caught in your throat when he pulled you closer, one arm around your back and the other grazing your shoulder.Â
Outside the window, you heard the morning birds begin their chirping. It was easier to focus on their melody than just how close Baekhyun was. Close enough to hear his pulse, quick and strong.Â
âYou okay?â he asked, nose nudging your jaw. âYou get enough?âÂ
You swallowed, suddenly remembering the whole reason Baekhyun had come over in the first place. Because you both had an itch that needed to be scratchedânothing more.Â
âYeah,â you replied weakly. âI got enough.âÂ
But he didnât move, just let his lips rest softly against your neck. It had never been like this before. Soft, quiet, sweet.Â
âWhy do you only let me feed from you?â you found yourself asking, hand on his chest gently pushing him back. âWhy me?âÂ
Baekhyunâs eyebrows pushed together in confusion. âWhat do you mean?âÂ
âI mean,â you sighed, sitting up and pushing your hair out of your face. âAll your feeding marks are from me. Iâm the only one, right?âÂ
Leaning up onto his elbows, Baekhyun could only shrug as if youâd asked him if he liked sugar in his coffee. âYeah.âÂ
âWhy?âÂ
âBecause I like you,â Baekhyun offered. As if it was the most obvious answer in the world.
You blinked. Had you heard him wrong? Did he mean it⊠like that?Â
âYou like me,â you repeated.Â
Baekhyun had the nerve to laugh, just a light, airy chuckle. âThatâs what I said. Why am I the only one you feed from?âÂ
Gulping, you tore your eyes away from him and shook your head. You wanted to deny itâbut you both knew it was true. Youâd never told him as much, but you wouldnât be so desperate for him if you could easily get it somewhere else. Correction: you could have, you just didnât want to.
âBecause I like you.âÂ
When you looked back at Baekhyun, he was grinning, the light catching on the glitter still smeared across his cheeks. He pushed himself to sit up, reaching for your hands. He tugged you closer to him.Â
âYeah? You sure you donât just like my delicious, mouthwatering blood?âÂ
You scoffed and shook your head, feeling a smile tug at your lips. âItâs not that delicious.âÂ
Baekhyun laughed again, and this time you had to join him. It felt like it was too good to be true, him wanting you the way you wanted him. You wanted to pinch yourself, just to make sure you hadnât blacked out and imagined this whole conversation.Â
âSince thatâs settled,â Baekhyun said, fingers grazing up your arm, your throat, until he was lifting your chin. You saw his affection for you in his eyes, so obvious it made you wonder if youâd been missing it all along.Â
When his lips touched yours, it was a kiss unlike any other youâd shared with him before. Deep and slow, like you had all the time in the world. You sighed into his mouth, letting his lips quiet every worry you had racing through your brain.Â
âStay the night,â you said softly once you parted from him.Â
Baekhyun smirked, pressing his forehead into yours. âItâs already morning.âÂ
You glanced at the window, noting the soft glow of the sunrise behind your curtains. âOh. Never-â
âIâm kidding,â he cut you off, stroking his fingertips across your cheek. âOnly if you promise to cook breakfast for me when we wake up. You do eat, right?â
âYes,â you said with a laugh. âI eat. I donât need to, but I love food too much not to.âÂ
âThatâs my girl,â he replied in a low tone, giving you goosebumps.Â
In order to keep yourself from jumping his bones, you pulled from him and climbed off the bed, searching for the comforter Baekhyun had thrown off the mattress when youâd first laid down. Once you found it, you settled on top of the sheets with him, pulling the blanket over top of your bodies.Â
Your memories from before you turned were a blur. Some things you could remember, but it was like theyâd happened to somebody else. You knew youâd had a series of unsatisfying one night stands, a couple of boyfriends, and a handful of crushes. You remembered the face of the man who turned you, but not his name or how it happened. A blessing, Kyungsoo told you.Â
And although you couldnât remember the faces of any of your past lovers, you knew without a doubt in your mind that you would never forget Baekhyun.Â
You realized as he brought you into his arms that he didnât just make you feel human, he made you feel like the girl youâd been before.Â

Dev Blog #27
Well guys.Â
Weâve reached the âlittle over a month until game releaseâ threshold.Â
The calm with which I write this devlog is a straight up façade.Â
Iâve actually been putting up writing and posting one because as Iâve mentioned before, these things serve as part updates for yâall and part journal entries for me to read later. But lately I didnât have anything noteworthy (brain fog, work woes, health tingz, you know the drill) or anything that wasnât a serious spoiler. And then we got new followers (HI NEW PEEPS!!) and the blog was livelier and it was just easier putting my energy towards that lol.
But now I do have some updates, so here we go!Â
Core Reviews played and reviewed us! Please check it out, show it some love and share the post! (And Iâll add it to the pinned messages sometime soon).
Beta testing is done. Officially. Thatâs right, I didnât combust or die đ€âđœ (I did however learn a LOT and Iâm grateful to every single person who took time to help me continue polishing up the game in time for October.) There are still plenty of things for me to do between now and release *cue tantrum* but if I continue to tell myself that itâs for the best, maybe Iâll start to believe it...
I made a TikTok. Itâs really just another personal platform masquerading as a public space soooo Iâm curious as to what kind of content Iâll post (this kills two birds with one stone: learning how to use TikTok and marketing the game ahaha)
Those epilogues I mentioned way back when?? They finished, baby. Now I can share what Iâm thinking! Originally I drafted up this extra content as epilogues for the main game, just something short and sweet and super fun. But then months went by, and April and Lydia specifically were giving me the most issues with their routes, so I went back and forth with whether to release epilogues. And then I managed to buckle down and fight and win! So Iâm editing them now.Â
What does this mean for yâall? I still think Iâll be pushing it to have these edited, coded, tested and ready by game release. (Itâs only 10k additional words total sooooo itâs doable but I worry these days about pushing myself.) Plan B???
Remember when I said I was gonna enter Yuri Jam? Well. I am considering releasing April, Florence, and Lydiaâs epilogues as âbonus contentâ aka a mini game for the Jam, and then releasing the boysâ + Billieâs bonus content after the jam ends. Technically Iâm entered in the jam, but I never decided on what to work on, and hey, this is totally something that could work for a jam space??? Iâd check a personal goal off the list and you guys would have something extra to look forward to as the year winds down.Â
Iâve other got things to tie us over between now and October 18, but in in the meantime, check out the pinned post! Thereâs art and MC x LI drabbles, character boards (that are 90% accurate to the current status of the game LOL) a quiz, and a survey for the demo (which many of you have completed, thank you!)
Okie doke, bye yâall!Â

Dying Embers
Her hair swished wildly in the wind, as if it were leaves swaying from the onset of a cyclone- flowing down to her waist, head thrown back. Fiery red, just like the dying embers of what was formerly a warming furnace. He could hear her laughter, slow and melodic, almost as if it were empyrean. She was the love of Harry's entire being. The soul to his body, the mind to his brain. She turned around, and all Harry could glimpse was her mouth- full, and pulled into a large smile. Her eyes were a bright hazel, shining with happiness, as she ran towards Harry, fitting easily in his arms.
They had met at the ball thrown by his parents that summer, exactly so that their son could meet a suitable young woman to marry. Harry had been extremely bored with the festivities, instead wishing he were out practicing archery with his friend, Neville.
His eyes flew around the room, passing from and then returning to a young woman who had just entered the gala. She didn't seem familiar, and was chaperoned by who seemed to her brother, judging from their hair. Harry was mesmerised- her yellow dress floated around her as if it were made of the finest, lightest silk to exist, and her hair was pulled back elegantly, exposing the milky column of her neck. He walked towards the pair.
"Forgive my intrusion, but will the lovely lady here consider dancing the next waltz with me?" Harry bowed slightly, his hand pulled tightly at his back.
The girl eyed him shyly as his brother did a more open appraisal. "We would like to first make your acquaintance, sir." He finally spoke.
"Of course, forgive me. I am Lord Harry Potter, Viscount of Little Whinging." He said, an automatic confidence seeping into his voice, one which only came from being the son of a duke.
"Forgive me, my Lord, I did not know. I am Ronald Weasley, and this is my younger sister, Ginevra Weasley. Our father is the Baron Weasley of Burrows." The pair bowed deeply, something which made Harry slightly uncomfortable.
"Please, I take no offense. It is my pleasure to make an acquaintance of Lord Weasley's children. He is my father's close friend. My question, however, to Lady Ginevra here remains unanswered." Harry steered the topic back to more important things from mere formalities.
"Of course, my lord." Ginevra said softly, placing her hand in Harry's outstretched one. As they walked towards the center of the floor, Harry's eyes met the identical ones of his mother, who stood to the side, flashing her son a soft smile.
"I adore you. And so does every thread of my existence, until my breath ceases." Harry spoke, bringing himself back from the night at the ball.
"I simply reciprocate, my Lord. And shall do so until death pull us part." She spoke softly, meeting Harry's lips with her own.
At the brink of twilight, a day before their wedding, the two of them wove their lives together, sealed by golden vows.
---
"Harry? Get on up, it's time to go!" His mother, Lily's voice flitted through the room, and sunlight poured inside as well, casting a bright glow all over. Harry sat up in bed, stretching excessively, getting rid of the multitude of pulls and pains he seemed to acquire over the night.
His parents swore he did not sleepwalk and fall down the stairs.
"Harry, honey, come on. You'll be late for uni otherwise." His mother peeked inside, her reddish brown hair pulled into a knot at the top of her head, green eyes shining with motherly affection. Seeing his mother's hair, Harry was reminded of his dream- recurring dream, he should say. Even though it was simply a few minutes old, seeing the 'girl' in his dream, he felt as if it were quite some lifetimes ago.
He had been dreaming of a girl quite frequently lately, and not in the lewd way his best friend Ron seemed intent on. Harry would always simply spot her hair, the curve of her waist and as soon as she turned around, he would be jolted awake.
When he was a child, his mother used to tell him tales in which princesses would dream of faceless men, a golden bond tying the two people together. The faceless person you dreamt about was whom you shared your golden thread of life with. But those were just fantasy- woven to make a dull reality exciting. At least now, at the age of 19, was what Harry believed. He hopped out of bed, and walked off into the bathroom, getting started on his morning routine. It was half past eight when he went downstairs, his first class of the morning at 9:15. His father, James, was stood in front of the kettle, pouring himself a cup of his morning Earl Grey, and his mother was setting down the plate of pancakes on the table.
"Breakfast?" She asked, sitting down, his dad joining her to the left. "Morning Haz." His father grinned lopsidedly, a grin much like Harry's own, glasses steaming up from the hot mug. Harry recited a greeting in return and was about to refuse breakfast on the account of well, running late, when the smell of butter floated up to him and he found himself seated in front of his parents.
"Did you get sore again?" Lily asked, concern lacing her low voice.
"Yeah. I just don't seem to know how." Harry noted, voice muffled from a mouth full of pancakes.
"Slow down, you'll choke." She admonished lightly, shooting James an exasperated look when he snickered a low 'That's what she said' into his morning Daily Prophet.
"He probably needs a new mattress. Let's get one on the weekend." His mother said, earning an affirmative hum from James who was busy with his newspaper.
"I'll get going now. Bye mum, bye dad. See you in the evening." He spoke after having had his share of pancakes and a chat with his mum. He bent down for the customary top-of-the-head kiss from his mother, something she had been doing since Harry started school. And although he wouldn't admit it, he adored this little sentiment. His dad shot him another grin as he walked out of the door, putting in his earphones.
Fortunately for him, the university campus was quite a short bus ride away. However, he still found himself running across the campus from the bus stop to his lecture theatre- he forgot to factor in the fact that the hall today was all on the opposite end of campus.
"Shit," He glanced at his phone, currently glowing 9:21. It was Professor Binns' lecture, and he wasn't too fond of latecomers. Harry counted on his excellent grade in the module, hoping that would pull him through. As he ran across, his peripheral vision noted a mane of red momentarily, but before Harry could turn around and see, he was already in front of the class, digging through the bag for his ID card.
---
"How is it that Binns' lectures keep getting worse through the term?" Ron, the aforementioned best friend groaned.
"Because your attention dwindles further as term moves on." Hermione, the other best friend noted. Harry grinned between the two of them. They were so in love, those oblivious idiots.
Binns' was the only class the three of them took together, and Ron departed for his Victorian Literature module. Harry and Hermione walked to the open amphitheatre, choosing to spend their free half hour which coincided together.
"Oh right. My friend from school is joining today, I was supposed to go show her around. Fancy coming?" Hermione spoke, eyes focused on her text messages. "Sure, I have the rest of the morning free." Harry pursed his lips. Hermione simply nodded and they set off across the campus again after the brief interlude at the theatre.
"Your friend is from school?" Harry asked.
"Yeah- she's a year younger but we were quite close when I was in year 12." She replied, eyes scanning the crowd at in front of the Lifesciences Lab, which was one of the main buildings on campus. "Who are we looking for again?" He imitated the search.
"Redhead, shorter than you." Hermione did not look up from the hoard of people, before her mouth set into a wide grin.
"Ginny! Here!" Hermione waved her arms around, jumping up and down in tandem. Harry couldn't see who Hermione was waving to, but the crowd was being roughly pushed aside as someone made their way towards the pair.
"Hermione! So good to see you!" The woman said, grabbing the older girl into a tight hug and letting go, placing the three of them in a triangular formation.
"Oh my god, I almost forgot to come see you." Hermione said somewhat sheepishly, but Harry wasn't listening. He was staring- no, gaping at the newcomer. Her hair was the exact shade of red as the girl in Harry's dream, and it cascaded down her back in a half up half down style. Her waist was encased in a light yellow sundress, complimenting her red hair. All in all, she was beautiful. Not because of her hair or slender figure, but also because of how her eyes shone as she spoke to Hermione.
"Have I seen you before?" Tumbled out of Harry's mouth before he could stop (or reason), and a pair of bright hazel eyes bore into his own moss green, before glittering again. Ginny simply smiled.

And here it is, another AU! I definitely did not plan for this to be a multiple lifetime AU, but Regency!Hinny seemed too good to pass up on. I apologise for what is probably a very poorly written Regency era conversation, my knowledge of it is simply from Bridgerton and Google haha. I decided to keep the end open, just so that you guys can envision your own romance for them! Also, can I just say how I loved writing Lily and James?? It's their little debut in my one-shots yay!
Also, you can find my Ao3 here, where I post quite fluffy Wolfstar one-shots, if that's your thing!
I hope you enjoyed this as usual! Please interact with my pinned TAGLIST post on my account if you wish to be notified of whenever I post Hinny one-shots! Thank you for reading, and big hugs to everyone who loves what I write! Please keep going, it truly makes my day (or week??) xxxx
